I procrastinate REAL good

sheepdrawing

The plan was, I’d spend the six months or so between getting here and getting my FLR(M) (the visa that allows me to work) putting together an illustration portfolio.

So…ummm…here’s what I’ve got so far.

Okay. See, I had to wait for all my art crap to get here. And then I needed a table to work on. And lamps. And shelves. And shelves mean a drill. And…oh, it’s just really complicated, okay?

Anyhoo! Have a lamb for Good Friday. I spent an hour watching this goofy pair nod off in the sun the other day.

Heh. I always hesitate to post artwork. It feels like fishing for compliments.

I’m not, really. I didn’t do jack shit today to blog about.

Oh, wait! I reduced the huge pile of pollarded bits into a smaller pile, by pulling out and chopping up all the parts large enough to burn in the chiminea.

No, I was right. That’s boring.

To be fair, Her Stoatliness also helped me bolt together a new cold frame and nodded approvingly as I put up some new staging in the greenhouse, pretending (quite convincingly!) that she knew/cared about all the little green dots in the seed trays.

She bloody well ought to – many of them are weasel food.

As, let it be said, should be the Bastard Runny Babbit From Hell that eviscerated half a row of lettuce seedlings during the night.

I tell you… you import a weasel and a cat from the colonies and the rabbits chomp-on regardless.

There will be a rabbit murder soon at Badger House, mark my words.

And if that Miss Marple comes calling, I shall know nothing. Nothing, I tell you!

Please do post more of your work… I for one come here each day because your blog is clever, original, and just fun to read! Your’s and Uncle B’s humor are quite similar though you express it much better than I. So please fish for compliments…because they will be given genuiely.
Uncle B. my daughter and I have been gardening tomatos, zucchini and eggplant amongst many other edibles this year so I “feel your pain”(yeah right) it’s an obsession now damn it.

Beautiful drawing, Weas. They look like a blissful pair. Oh to be a dumb animal sat in a field on a spring day.

What do you intend to murder these rabbits with, B?

Happy Easter, everyone.

Well, Gibby, Management says ‘kindness’ but I think I’m going to eschew her advice and hire members of her family who aren’t too squeamish to do an honest day’s slaughtering.

Yes! Bring on the dancing ferrets!

Sheepitude — you have captured it. Mama even looks like she has a chaw in her cheek — nice fleece, too! (Any chance of an “embiggen” button? Please?)

Uncle B,
If the ferrets do the de-rabbiting, can you still eat the rabbits? (You don’t have to put rings around their necks like cormorants or anything, do you?)

Very nice, Ms. Weasel! I would just like you to know that whenever I slip on my sheepskin slippers after a long day of cooking animals, I think of you in ould Blighty amongst the woolies.

The pirate.

By all accounts, the Famous Artists course was really very good. As good as a correspondence course in art can be, anyhow. Would Norman Rockwell screw you?

I submit that he would not. No.

Guess I’ll chime in and say it’s real purty.

Regarding the little rabbits from the infernal regions, remember Rule 37: There is no “Overkill”, there is only “Open Fire” and “Time to Reload”.

I submit that if Normal Rockwell were to screw me, he’d do so next to the Christmas tree, in front of a cheery fire and a dog looking on quizzically.

Well, parrots or pirates, I’m seriously jealous. I’ve got to put in some time to–well, suck less.

Deborah,
You’re so right — between Mama’s woolly side and the warm sun (and Ms. Weasel’s awesome pencil), that lamb looks totally blissed out. (Not shorn, though — they come out in little, all-over, pin curls — boucle birthday suits!)

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
