If you don’t subscribe to the Daily Caller‘s DC Morning email, I highly recommend it (even though I get it in the afternoon). I don’t necessarily recommend the site, just the email. No doubt about it, they got Treacher writing it.

“The public confidence in President Obama’s management of the crisis is worse than the 62 percent who faulted President Bush two weeks after the New Orleans catastrophe.” This is possibly because Pres. Bush could stand to spend more than two hours at a time among all those hillbillies and swamptards.

It’s an interesting decision on his part, and a bad one.

It stems, I think, from his fundamental belief that government really can do ANYTHING. The basic cliche is “If we can go to the moon, surely we can end poverty in our lifetime”.

So, what he is saying in his threat is that there IS a solution to this mess, and it’s only because somebody (Republican) isn’t doing his job that government hasn’t solved the problem yet. He really believes it too, and therefore his threat to ‘kick some ass’ seems valid to him.

To the cynical among us this idea is amusing, because if there were a solution, you can bet that BP would have used it by now.

By this action, Obama has very much taken ownership of (dare I say it?) this tarbaby. He has embraced it with both hands….

Anybody got some feathers and a rail? If not, well, we have until November to find them. In the meantime it’s going to be fun to watch.

Weasel, great stuff. Who does he think he’s kidding is exactly right. Little does he know that BP has been taking him for the ride. I can hardly wait for it to come out that one of the reasons BP has taken so long is because they are trying to save the well. Not just contain it, but save it as well.

It’s plain to me that the basic problem here is a failure of the government to tax us sufficiently.

Once they get that “Offshore Drilling Catastrophe Remediation Surcharge Tax” in place, the problems of unfocussed, and ineffectual federal government response will take care of themselves.

This is simply one more example of how the Bush Administration left our great nation vulnerable to these sorts of problems, because they insisted that we needed to be undertaxed, in the first place.

When you couple the “Offshore Drilling Catastrophe Remediation Surcharge Tax” with the “Carbon Tax”, and the “Green Energy Technology Subsidy Tax”, as well as the several other “Windfall Profit Taxes”…

Well….at that point, not only will we finally be properly positioned to enable PresBO to kick several asses…

Each and every one if us can sleep better each night, knowing that our government will have collected and utilzed all of these additional billions in tax dollars appropriately….as they always do.

He could use a good ferret-legging.
