Whaddya know?

This young lady is the daughter of a pair of sweasel.com readers.

Yeah, I know. I’m as shocked as you are. I had no idea any grownups read this stuff.

Anyhoo, she makes music. I have heard it and it is good.

You can hear some of it here.

And then I’m going to leave this picture up all weekend, so’s you can stare into her soulful gray eyes and contemplate giving her your moneys.

Good weekend, everyone!

“you can stare into her soulful gray eyes”

This place is in black & white; everything is gray

Adventure! Man those were the days.

Nice, she’s good. I have a spare money.

I still don’t have any monies after my trip to Norway, that darned $400 a month paycut is killing me. (insert curse words of your choice here) but she can make pretty music and she’s pretty, so I’ll try.

Iowahawk rules.

This 59 year old grandma is a regular reader! Not so surprising. 🙂

That doesn’t necessarily make you an adult, right? I’m counting on that, because adulthood isn’t nearly as much fun as a kid thinks it will be:)

Any chance of telling use WHO the parents are?

I ask, because I’d like to enter into negotiations…

What? Don’t you people judge me…

You mean we’re allowed to breed? Why am I the last to know these things?

Sweet voice, she has.

Good thing you mentioned that Carly’s parents are regular readers here, or otherwise I would have gone all nasty haiku on her.

Still, I intend to stalk her until I am discovered, arrested, and become the unwilling wish-fulfillment of my cellmate.

This is why I’m wanting to negotiate…

Good thinking. Unfortunately, we career stalkers aren’t that bright.

Oh well, at least we don’t have the death penalty for hanging around in the bushes wearing a stained prom dress, night-vision bifocals, and a patina of strawberry lube. There’s no death penalty for that, right? ‘Cause hey–I’m just asking for a friend, anyway.

Not for the first offense, at least…

From what I understand. From a friend.

Come on, you cheapskates, send the young lady a money. It’s really good, and worth it. She plays a mandolin for criminy sakes.

For you older drunkards like me, remember the Jimmy Buffet song, and the lyric “there’s nothing so feminine, about a mandolin, the way they sound, the way they ring…”

Don’t remember that one, Allen, but I remember the (IIIRC) John Pryne ditty:
“She never was too much,
Just a Framus Backstage Deluxe.
But a lady never fared so well
Who traveled near so much.”

/in loving memory of my own Framus 6-string; she saw me through Germany, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Florida, Illinois, and Wisconsin, where she was cravenly stolen from me during a drunken party in Madtown

You mean that stalking is, like, an actual career field? Why am I only finding this out *now*?!?

Bill: What you do is buy a camera. It doesn’t have to work, actually, but it does have to make a clicking noise and fire the flash.

Ric

I already have one of those — souvenir of one too many trips through the X-ray scanners of various Third World airports…

Moneys sent. MP3 downloaded.
Now what do I do with it?
BTW, do you know what goes through the mind of a man who realises that he’s now 65 years old?
“What the fuck happened!”

Thank you to everybody who has downloaded Carly’s EP. She has enough money to splurge on a meal at McDonald’s now! Or maybe Subway…she likes them better. =D Seriously, though, thank you. And spread the word about her music to your friends. BTW, you should all know that all the guitar and mandolin tracks are hers; the kid has some serious chops.

Carly’s Mom, your daughter is good. I sent a nefarious character I know, my brother, who’s in the concert business her info. I asked him to pass along your daughter’s work to people in the business. Good luck!

To Carly’s Mom,
My teen-aged daughter showed me how to play the whole thing on my ‘puter! She’s also now got it on her Pod. She’s telling all her friends where this ‘cool’ stuff can be downloaded from. They like it.
Hope that something starts to grow.
