I bought a thing
You’ve probably figured it out, but I was stumped. It’s a dandelion puller.
Works a treat on soil. You dig the prongs into the earth and rock it back. I have a whole bunch of thistles popping out of my sad, brown excuse for a lawn and it did for them. Sadly, it’s useless for pulling weeds out of brick work, which is what I particularly hoped it would tackle.
One of the pleasures of country shows, there’s always at least one guy selling reclaimed old garden tools. The forks and shovels are too heavy for me, but the small tools are beautiful and feel wonderful in the hand.

I get ya. I keep a lot of old hand tools for aesthetic reasons. I bought a beautiful Dewit garden axe several years ago. It’s shaped like a small bearded axe, hickory and steel, feels great in hand. Not used it once. I bought a cheap Chinese hand axe from Tractor Supply to abuse and put the nice one in the closet. Weird.

Weeds in the brick work?
Two words.
Flame thrower.
And I have a chest full of old wrenches, saws, files and such.
Good old solid American iron and steel tools.
We could outfit a CrackerBarrell with doohickies.

Well, one yanks weeds so.
More British I suppose would be to “winkle them out”.
But Durnedson #1 bought a flammenwerfer such as you linked to for weeding, and I want one.

For digging our weeds from between bricks, I find that a linoleum knife works the best.
