Hold on – it’s coming
We’ve had a perfectly awful winter. Not cold, but wet and miserable and dark day after day after day. One sunny day every few weeks and then back to it. Everyone is depressed.
But the dickie birds know spring is coming. They’ve been singing their hearts out for days. And today – croci! (Flowers in black and white are stupid, here’s color).
March sometimes has a good thumping in it, but we’re almost through.
In the thread below, Jasonius asks if I’ve tried Claude. I have and I’m impressed. It’s the most conversational of the AIs so far. Try it. Ask it a neutral history question about your town, or a recipe, or how to get shoes that fit.
I’m paying for ChatGPT, though, and I feel obliged to use it. They’re all as good as each other for computer-y questions.

Having just had 33cm of global warming in 24 hours (some got half a meter) I don’t feel a lot of sympathy for your awful winter.
However, I do have sympathy for the other nonsense happening in the British Isles.

My Geeky CTO #1 son swears by Claude.
If I could send you pictures I’d send the millet growing where we fed the birds last fall before my neighbor decided hee needed 2 male cats and ended our bird, rabbit, and squirrel guest visitations.

Cry me a river…Just finished clearing another foot, on top of the four already there, from my drive and the road. Neither the state nor our county does the road maintenance for where I live… We do our own with snowblowers & ATV plows. I may see grass sometime in early May. Having said that, I will concede that I’ve felt colder in winter in Felixstowe than I ever have here in Alaska, even at -50F. Ain’t no one does cold,damp & dreary like the Brits.
