You can also set up a plane tracker on a Pi. Pi3 and up will do it. Instructions here.
Flightradar24 will even give you all the gear for free, plus a paid account, but you have to swear to leave it running all the time and somehow get the antenna outside with a clear view. Since a paid account is something stupid like $15 a year, I shan’t.
We do watch the planes a lot. There are many interesting amateur flights in our area, plus the occasional Spitfire flyover (we even had a Vulcan bomber go straight over our house once!). But mostly we watch the tracker planes and helicopters go ’round and ’round the Channel, spotting illegals.
They know who’s coming, how many and when. We all know that. What we don’t know is…WHY?
