Day 2: Tranquil

Geez, I’m rusty at this. I confess I had to do a little touch up in P’shop since I ran my stupid hand through the stupid wet ink. Twice.

Phun Phact: when a chicken closes her eyes, the lower lid comes up more than the upper lid comes down. It’s a little creepy looking until you get used to it.

However you did it, Stoatie, it is a lovely drawing, and does indeed convey tranquility very nicely.

Did you get any usable ideas for whale day?

I like it. Makes me want to nod off, too. I love their rounded chicken bosoms.

Reptile eyes do the same thing. Chickens evolved from raptors, right? I mean, isn’t that how Richard Attenborough explained the use of chicken eggs to carry dinosaur DNA gleaned from museums in that movie.

I like the drawerings too. You should spend the entire day drawing stuff like that.

If reptile eyes also do that, and raptor eyes generally do, then I could expect that the eye of an eagle would do the same?

Gives me an idea for a fine detail to add to my stories about griffins!

Apropos of nothing, but you mentioned using Photoshop. Two pairs of words for ya-
Affinity Photo.
Photoshop killer.

What’s Affinity Photo got that outdoes Photoshop? (bearing in mind I spent a helluva lot of money for a legal copy of the latter).

GIMP actually does some things better, but the interface is shit.

Price, mainly… compared to Adobe’s software rental agreement. It does most everything at least as well if not better than Pshop, excepting GIFs.

I will admit to a bias against most things Adobe.

If you already own CS6 there’s probably not much in it for you. If you’re doing that awful rent thing, Affinity is worth every penny.
