Will one of y’all vote or me, please?

Before I moved to the UK, I took a side trip home. Among other things, I switched my voter registration from Rhode Island to Tennessee. Made sense. Tennessee is my native state and I still owned property there.

But I’ve never kept up on local Tennessee politics, so I usually don’t bother getting an absentee ballot for the midterms. I probably should, but I don’t.

Under these circumstances, I’m pretty sure it’s legal for one of y’all to vote in my stead. So have at it.

Or at least vote for yourself.

That thar’s fraud missy!

Besides I have all I can do to get in the ballots for my deceased kin in half a dozen states before the deadline without having to do yours too.

PAT PAULSEN FOR EVERYTHING!

So, if I got this request right, you want me to fly out to Tennessee, drive to the polls, announce myself as Ms. Weasel, former resident of Rhode Island, but now proud property owner in the Volunteer State, and demand to vote a few times, right?

You wouldn’t try to trick a loyal minion into doing anything foolish or illegal, would you?

Phil Bredesen says you already voted the straight Democrat ticket, and thanks you for your support.

Heh! “Straight” and “Democrat” in the same sentence. Sorta like “military” and “intelligence”…

Vote for myself? I’ve done that many, many times. More often than not, none of the candidates meet my criteria, so I put my own name on the write-in line.

It sure will be interesting to see the results of tomorrow’s voting!

Geez, I would’t want to run for anything here in the People’s Republic of Illinois. If you win folks just show up with their hands out.

Off Topic——Stoaty, did you see this story? Wasn’t it 23andMe you used for your DNA test? From American Council on Science and Health website (one of my favorites).

https://www.acsh.org/news/2018/11/02/trick-or-treat-fda-approves-new-23andme-report-13568

” … the FDA and 23AndMe simultaneously announced a new service, genomic testing for an individuals ability to metabolize 50 commonly used prescribed and over the counter medications.”

Oh, that’s very interesting, DeborahHH. I’ll have to check it out. If it’s a new report, it should be on their website.

Yes, I did.

As long as a person can metabolize alcohol, it’s the little things that count.

Back home in my neck of the woods, we have Democrats, Losers, and Loons to vote for. I had the chance to vote for candidates from the newly established Compassion Party this time round. The sweet embrace of the Compassion Party. So snuggly.

Orwell is still buried in England I imagine.

An old friend used to say that voting in Rhode Island is purely aspirational. You might could actually pick a winner in Tennessee.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
