Count Basie looks thoughtful

Yes, that’s definitely a black man on the right. In other variations of this logo, the white people are all staring at him like, “yes, even you, my dusky friend.”

What’s going on with that little girl and her poor stumpy arms, I do not know. It is all cringe.

Anyhoo. Neighbourhood Watch meeting by Zoom tonight, I kid you not.

It’s not quite the League of Busybodies. We do have a serious problem with rural crime, and it’s gotten worse this year. A whole lot of sheep stealing and tractor nicking.

Getting sneaky cellphone pics of strange cars in the neighborhood helps, if you can do it without a confrontation. Which you can’t always. Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as “felony staring at sheep.”

Many of the plates lead back to the same nearby town, causing speculation there might be an illicit butcher there.

Would this be “an illicit halal butcher” by chance?

How about felony staring at young teen girls… is that a problem there yet?

What’s going on with that little girl and her poor stumpy arms, I do not know.

My first take was that she is clasping her hands behind her back. But perhaps she’s rubbing the policeman’s crotch.

It is all cringe.

Yes. Especially because a quartet of neighbours worried enough to set up rotating surveillance teams wouldn’t be grinning like politicians at an open bar.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a policeman wearing a tall hat. More typically these days they’re wearing riot helmets so as not to get spattered with blood when they are clubbing members of the public daring to express unapproved opinions about face masks or lockdowns.

Aren’t the sheep in riot mode like all the mad cows over there? I read how several “hikers” have been trampled to death by cranky cattle in the past week or so.

I saw Cranky Cattle open for Anthrax back in the 80’s. They were terrible.

What’s all this then!
Madam, did I not see you casting an eye on the lambs in the pastures hereabouts?

If you don’t mind, I think you should come along with me to the station. Please walk 6 feet behind me, and wear this Jibjab thingie, thank you for your compliance.

I saw Illicit Butcher open for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers back in the late 70’s.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t quite cut it.

I don’t know where to post this so I’ll just drop it in here and not step on today’s very interesting post.

@Stoaty – have you seen this latest nonsense from Pantone? The pandering crowd has lost their damned minds.

btw- how the hell does one nick a tractor? Farmers are leaving keys in? I guess if your shed is far away from the house or the tractor is left in the field you wouldn’t hear it start up, but they aren’t the quietest beasts.

We have various size tractors for different jobs…including an old Belasrus, named Ivan, of course, that you can hear start up 1/2 mile away.
