Death by turkey

We did it! We conquered the turkey!

Cold turkey for supper last night. Turkey sammiches for lunch today. Three meal-sized portions of mixed white and dark meat vacuum-packed and frozen. Then I boiled the carcass all day (my, doesn’t that stink?) and extracted enough broth and back meat for several pots of soup and a pie. Which we’re having tonight.

If we can face it.

A couple of tweets to share. Divine: this amazing Welsh church.

And, well, this. It made me laugh.

Yay!
Mustelids: 8
Turkey: 0

BTW, the “made me laugh” link takes one to the church again, and, darn it, I do need a laugh.

15 bean and ham soup going another hour for dinner…smells great. First batch of jerky going on the new smoker right now for after dinner. I even had a nap. What could be better?

Weasely dear, is the joke on us? Both links go to the church. Haha? Um, no.

We did Ham, so, alas, NONE of the wonderfulness of left over turkey. No open faced sandwiches with gravy and dressing, no sandwiches, no stolen hunks of turkey breast to be gnawed on while grazing the fridge, no second or third turkey dinner, and no wonderful noodle rich turkey soup.

Was the funny link supposed to be a tie to Hillarious Baldwin, the giant non Spanish faker? That certainly made me laugh.

But that church, old craftsmen are amazing. Next time you watch an old movie, like Harvey, or The Bishop’s Wife, notice the woodwork and craftsmanship in the old houses/sets. Would cost a fortune of fortunes if it was done today.

@ Durned…the family epitaph for the lady who rests next to my grandparents always makes me smile; “She was our mother, and she wasn’t slow” Says everything one needs to know about her, doesn’t it?

Ghostsniper’s touching post at Gerard’s kinda brought me down today…cuz the bastards want all of us over a certain age dead and they are no longer pretending.

BJM.
Half a loaf is better than none? NO.

Because isn’t that what our whiney kid class needs the government for, to make sure that every possible thing is available to us, and if someone can’t make EVERY possible thing available to us, (like a Klingon interpreter…) we shouldn’t allow them to make ANYTHING available to us.

Narrow minded rule following morons.

BJM – Are you familiar with the phrase “Live for revenge.”?
