I can has cheezburger?

Turns out, taking stupid pictures of cats with funny captions didn’t wait for the internet. Here’s a first reader from 1911 that is just that, and the cats looked just as thrilled back then.
I’m having some kind of weird problem where I can’t see documents at archive.org (where the actual book is served from) unless I open it in a new private window with TOR. I told the robot and it recommended a fix that looked like more of a pain in the ass than the issue, so I just use the TOR solution.
One of the cat charities we follow said it’s National Cat Day. I asked Grok. Apparently not here.
Yes — today (Thursday, October 29, 2026) is National Cat Day in the United States.
It’s an annual observance (always on October 29) founded in 2005 by pet lifestyle expert Colleen Paige to raise awareness for shelter cats needing adoption and to celebrate the cats already in people’s lives.
It’s mainly a U.S. thing (other countries have their own cat days on different dates), and it’s not an official public holiday—just a fun awareness day for cat lovers. Happy National Cat Day!
Go celebrate or something.
