Coven meeting

ladies

Had a late thang with my historical society tonight. We’re just in.

My bosses are old. You know my employers value me for my relative youth and strength. I am, like, historical society muscle. True story. And they think Onkle B is adorable.

These aren’t my old ladies, though. From what I gather, this is a group of Norfolk biddies in their traditional garb.

There must have been one rotten horrible old Norfolk hag whose behavior made this the international symbol for witches.

Don’t forget! Back here tomorrow, 6WBT. Dead Pool Round 95!

I’m very suspicious of that image being from Norfolk.

As we say, it’s Norfolk ‘an’ good….

Huh. I always though witch hats were literally conical complete with pointy, uh, points. Those look more like missile nose cones.

The one on the left is a dead ringer for my late grandmother, especially the finger.

Well, I went back and looked at all the versions of that pictures I could find, after he cast doubts on my provenance. I couldn’t find the Norfolk reference. Most sources agree this is a group of old ladies dressed up like witches.

You could produce a truck load of witches hats with your 3d printer. In fact, didnt you get a sewing machine so you could make cat clothes? How’d that turn out? You could easily whip out cat clothes on your 3D printer, too. You could make kitty leidenhausen. 🙂

It’s none of my business, but you might consider carving some more of those anti-witch marks into the rafters of your house, and – from the sound of things- maybe carve some into the top of your desk at work too !

And speaking of Witch’s familiars, now are Charlotte and Mad Jack?

What a great photograph. The woman next to Uncle Al’s Grandmother look-alike: her boney fingers—downright scary! But the hats—oh the hats are worth it all.

@Ric Fan – Making cat clothes is a snap compared to getting cats to wear them. Oil up your chain mail!

The one on the left is Granny Weatherwax, right?

I think that is my late Grandmother’s pinochle coven. Foul tempered gaggle of vitriol spewing members of the “Danish Sisterhood” that played for hours at our house once a month when I was a child. They drank warm beer out of teacups and cursed anytime they saw a child. Pelted me with hard candy with startling accuracy. Stung enough that it wasn’t worth repeating more than once on any given invasion of our house.

Jeez, what kind of idiot would manufacture black traffic cones?

That is what those are, right? Must be some sort of EU thing, huh? Maybe black is metric orange.
