They make the most adorable sounds when they die
I finished the last of my antibiotics this morning. I don’t know if it’s the sickness or the medicine, but something has transformed my usual robustly lazy self into a still, tranquil lump of inert flesh. Man, I’m tired. I reckon one more weekend of bone idleness should set me on the road to recovery.
Or not. Whatever. I ain’t moving for two days.
To that end, I bought a little game: bad north. It’s a light strategy game from Sweden about Vikings murdering and pillaging your people, but the graphics are so adorable and the music is so catchy it makes genocide positively kawaii.
This is not big brain stuff. I think it’s available in phone edition, so it’s that kind of game. But after an hour or so of gameplay, I think this is a recommend.

I’m on day 3 of the crud. Neither nyquil nor DayQuil nor robitussin nor any over the counter stuff has put a dent in my misery. My husband just brought me a glass of whiskey. Nothing else has worked so this sure as hell cant hurt. At least i’ll Get a little sleep tonight

I am a dedicated believer in indolence, but today I am determined to layout and cut out six pieces of “new” fabric for which to recover the cushions on my dining chairs. I bought the fabric in 2008, so it’s not like I’ve been in a mad hurry to get this done, but we have guests coming for Christmas. Maybe if I get started today, I can actually be done in time. I also have an expanse of open floor about 9ft x 15ft—which I never had before—so I can roll out the whole bolt and take my time matching the plaid for each piece.
If anybody has upholstery tips for me, please share.

Mrs Fert is a dedicated quilter and seamstress. She says don’t worry about not using your 2008 stash until now, she has stuff from 2003 she’s just now getting around to making into a quilt.

I hope all who are ailing get over it expeditiously, like RIGHT FREAKIN’ NOW, please!
I’m not ailing, thank goodness, but I did get a flu shot Friday after much trepidation: my last one was decades ago and it laid me low for a week most unpleasantly. It was indistinguishable from having actual influenza.
It seems they’ve got better at concocting the vaccine, as the only effect I’m experiencing is zero energy/motivation and everything looks as though I’m peering through a nice beef consommé. Clear enough, but muted colors bordering on sepia.
I’m not complaining. That would be unseemly with several actual sick people browsing here. It is my sincere hope that you all get all better very quickly.
