Meet my cleanup crew

They they go through a lot for this for this. The chicken run is clear around the other side of the house and they have to go through a fence (specifically set up to keep them out) along the way. Anything for those sweet, sweet Friskies.

You will never forget the unmistakable sound of three beaks bouncing off a cat’s bowl. Who needs a Roomba?

p.s. actually, I do. I hate Hoovering. Have any of you got one? Does it work?

No, I don’t have one, and all I’ve got is hearsay (generally positive).

But Stoaty, please-please-please if you get one you simply MUST post video of Cat Meets Roomba!

I have a Roomba clone Noisz by ILIFE S5 Pro 2-in-1… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085VR2WYR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I love it. It cleans well including nests of cat hair, is extremely quiet and it has a mopping function. I highly recommend it.

JavaMan bought a Shark brand robot vac. It does a decent job. It would be better if we used it more often, but I forget about it, and it upsets my dog. Of course, the DOG is why JavaMan bought it. She’s a white long-haired Chihuahua and sheds like she’s a Great Pyrenees. Because of the hair, he has to clean it out halfway through cycle, but it’s ok. We have not rearranged any furniture, but we do pick up power cords and move smaller things (foot stools, trash bins) out of the way as it moves around. Sometimes it gets stuck and you have to rescue it. It does a fair job against the baseboards, and would probably do a very good job if we ran it more often.

Our floor layout is extremely Roomba-unfriendly, but anything would be a help.

The moment I clapped eyes on this white carpet I thought, “oh, the things we’re going to do to you…”

My daughter has a Roomba. She tells me that, from time to time, she gets a text from it, saying that it is stuck somewhere.

She finds it peculiar, getting texts like that in the middle of her business meetings.

@stoaty…I love the Roomba…the only hitch is area rugs with fringe, but other than that it works very well. It can get confused in a small area with a lot of chair and table legs. We have a long gallery hallway (one side floor-to-ceiling glass) and it is steller in wide open spaces and under the beds!

@Steve, it would be more fun if we could edit the text messages it sends.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
