New fren

This girl was waiting for me at work today. Never seen her before. She was skinny, but I think she’s old. She seemed intrigued by her surroundings, so I have a suspicion she’s someone’s inside cat that managed to get loose. I kept checking for her through the day, but she didn’t come back.

I hope she’s safe and warm someplace – the weather is wild again today.

You, though – you need to get out and VOTE! VOTE LIKE THE WIND!

I understand machinery is on the blink in key cities and the news media has been calling it “totally normal” for the vote count to take days. How ever will we ever clean up the hot spots?

We climbed from our sick beds to vote for our man Skateboard Jesus for Texas Governor.

Okay, part of that is a scurrilous lie. 😁

If only I believed the midterms would fix things, but honestly I feel like the Republicans are gonna Lucy us with the football because otherwise they won’t get to the cool kid parties in Washington.

On a good news front, I hope when this is done the succession will no longer include Nancy Pelosi, maybe making some 25th Amendment action for the 2 assholes a good idea.

Voted early and in person. However I am in Texas so it’s more a matter of form than of necessity here (except in Austin). I know that the fix is in in Pennsylvania, and New York will go Republican shortly after Hell freezes solid no matter what has happened in New York City.

So, I suspect that the Democrats will hold the Senate.

Oh, the Cat…. No matter how old a cat gets, there is a need for periodic adventure trips… No doubt he is she is safe at home drinking the prodigal cat’s cream.

Hunterdon County NJ replaced all its Dominion machines with the NS&S XL system. Keeps a paper copy that can be scanned or read along with digital tabulation. Really easy to use too. And we had no problems at all, even with 136 voting points.

We have several beggar cats that show up here. Most are probably out for an afternoon adventure. 1 actual outdoor kitty. Feral but not evil. They all get something to eat.

@durnedyankee…the republicans have been doing the “Lucy” since I was born. More interested in being the loyal opposition and maintaining the cocktail party invites. They’re reaching the end of their grace with the voters. I really fear if they fail to deliver this time the shit may actually hit the fan.

In Arizona’s governor’s race it is Kari Lake(R)-v- Katie Hobbs(D). Lake was opposed by the Republican Party because she would fight the Democrats, and incidentally promoted by the Democrats who believed she would be to extreme to get support. She went from being double digits behind to I think 12 points ahead of Hobbs and climbing. One small detail. Hobbs is the Secretary of State of Arizona. That means she is in charge of all elections. And they are having voting machine problems in populous Maricopa County where Lake has a lot of support.

In New York, it is theoretically possible that unelected Democrat governor Hochul could be defeated by Republican Zeldin as they are tied. But for some reason they are having voting machine problems in the Republican parts of NYC, and in the upstate areas supporting Zeldin including Amish and Mennonite areas that are strong supporters.

In Pennsylvania it is Democrat Fetterman, he who was incapacitated by a series of strokes -v- Oz [no wizards involved]. In counties and townships where Oz is ahead, for some reason they did not order paper for the voting machines. Yeah.

So we shall see. If I may do a low level rant:
1) We live in a system where supposedly legitimate government MUST include “Consent of the governed”.
2) “Consent of the governed” is determined in large part by elections at all levels.
3) There is a built in assumption that said elections are honest.
4) Honesty in elections is like an on-off switch. It is either there or it is not there.
5) If the honesty of the elections cannot be trusted, or it is known not to exist; there is no consent of the governed.

Just something to file away to ponder if somehow vote counts somehow don’t make sense.

The best thing about the election today is that tomorrow I won’t have to ignore dozens of robocalls for Candidate XXXXX …

Dementia and Mush Brain in 24!

Because we dig crime and paying $15.00/gallon for gas, and store brand ice cream or $15.00 for a dozen eggs.

Oh well, at least we know Veto O’Rourke won’t go hungry till his next run for Texas Dog Catcher!

I have to admit, I was a teeny bit hopeful for a red wave but am sadly not surprised. After all, the Democrats have had two full years to ‘fortify’ the election process in states they completely control.

A little surprised at the Fetterman win. I know they’re hoping to just replace him at the first opportunity with a Dem who can at least string a complete sentence together but the utter utilitarian nature of it seems morally broken to me.

However, as I believe Thomas Sowell said, America can survive electing someone like Barak Obama, it can’t survive electing someone like Barak Obama twice. So the die was really cast in 2012 and this is the down ramp to anarcho-tyranny. Fun times indeed.

The national media pushed the whole Red Wave idea, just so they could call Republicans big losers when we didn’t get a tsunami.

What Subotai Bahadur said.

I’ve been using the browser Opera for a couple of years now, but it’s infected with a virus, so I’m struggling with Edge now. What with genealogy and DAR, my flag and American History hobbies, I have thousands of saved documents and links, which are now in a huge mess. They were a mess before, but I could still find things. If you don’t hear from me again, it’s because JavaMan has taken away my computer and buried it.

The next clusterf*ck is Biden’s exit. Harris will be sworn in and a new VP chosen. I’m thinking Michelle Obama…cuz the optics of two women of color would be a Dem wet dream. However Harris will soon step down to spend more time with her family and Michelle will move on up. A sockpuppet moves into the VP slot.

Just like that: an unelected Executive.

I thought Pelosi would be rewarded the VP slot for her unwavering water carrying, and she’s next in the succession, but Paul prolly screwed that pooch.

Speaking of dogs…Bill is still the titular head of the party…and he may want Hill to replace Harris.

One thing is certain…we gonna need MOAR popcorn.
