Where now?
Always makes me laugh that there’s only two manuscript parchment copies of the US Declaration of Independence and they are located in:
1) the US National Archives
2) the archives of West Sussex County Council, where it was found by chance in 2015.
Following up on that, it’s true. There are lots of copies, but that’s the only other one on parchment. Most copies are 19th C, but they believe this one was about ten years after the original.
Back to work tomorrow after a fabulous four-day break. I am sad.

We had more copies, but over time they’ve been used inappropriately, and subsequently flushed.
We don’t need it anymore anyway, we have a “king” now just like you.
Royal edicts, Executive orders and “Agency Regulations”, same same.

There’s lots of great stuff in the DoI, but my fave has always been (and always will be):

@Uncle Al – heh, and the 2nd Amendment is there so we can go deer hunting, and to protect ourselves from burglars, not to resist the armed tyranny of a repressive government.

Do we have a new deadpool this week? Chuck Morris body has been found so he is now officially dead even though the news has reported him as dead for weeks now. I am not sure how this works with people who are reported dead without a body.

And while doing my Brit newspaper scan tonight I saw that whoever he was, he and his son went kayaking and were found dead after being missing for 24 days.
