A moment’s reflection

Sadly, it looks like gulliblepratt’s fingers are slipping off the dick (ha! Nope. Never gets old). Nelson Mandela is said to be improving steadily. So, before he croaks indeed and criticizing him becomes some kind of special sooper dooper hate crime, let us pause for a moment and reflect that Mandela is a Commie and a terrorist piece of shit who richly deserved the prison sentence that pop culture sprung him out of.

Actually, I’m ‘onna let Kathy Shaidle do that, because I suspect criticizing Mandela is already some kind of special hate crime, and she has more guts than I have.

During this time, he and other ANC leaders formed its armed wing — Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK). Mandela was secretly appointed its commander in chief. – PBS special on Mandela

That “armed wing” carried out terror attacks at shopping centers, movie theaters and other civilian targets, not just “establishment” ones like courts and banks.

These attacks blew many innocent whites and blacks to bits.

And when Mandela was arrested, the authorities claimed to have uncovered “210,000 hand grenades, 48,000 anti-personnel mines, 1,500 time devices, 144 tons of ammonium nitrate, 21.6 tons of aluminium powder and 1 ton of black powder.” – Shaidle, at the link

What is it with the left and terrorist bombers? This week, Rolling Stone made a cover boy out of dreamy Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (is it mean spirited to hope his last stand somehow messed up that pretty face?). And then there’s Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, whose defense of the Weather Underground bombings is something like they weren’t very good ones. Oh, and Saint Yasser Arafat, who invented the suicide bomber?

It’s clear that some chunk of the left doesn’t just excuse these murderous assholes, but swoons over them. Why? What is it?

You know, if you think someone’s gotten away with murder and you hunt him down and put a bullet in him, you’re the worst thing imaginable: a vigilante.

But if you plant a bomb in a shopping mall because you are terribly, terribly butthurt…?

I haven’t really kept up with conditions in South Africa, and the news has been pretty quiet, unless you hunt for it. But, generally speaking South Africa after the change in government has take the same road all the other African States have taken.

Sickening the way liberal-communists have taken advantage of dumb kids’ pop culture…I’m thinking about that Lethal Weapon movie and all that ‘white South Africans are evil’ shtick.

Looking back at a lifetime of brainwashing through pop culture and seeing it for what it was after the scales fell from my eyes.

Burn it down.
Scatter the stones.
Salt the earth where it stood.

Mme. Hermine:

What is it with the left and terrorist bombers?

I’d say the left has toned down a notch. You don’t see as many Che or Mao T-shirts as you used to.

These were/are the heroes of the left:

Che: a rabid racist and psychopathic serial axe (among other weapons) murder

Mao: responsible for a higher human death toll than any other person (term used loosely) who ever lived, some 50-60 million at last count.]

Unless the person who got away with murder is a “White Hispanic”. Then you would be a hero of the people and friend of the oppressed.

“terribly, terribly butthurt” as in “treated as near slaves”.

Apartheid South Africa was a truly malignant place. But don’t take my word for it. That well-known left-wing shill Robert Heinlein visited South Africa in 1953, and described it in his travel book Tramp Royale, which was dug out of the drawer after his death and published in 1992. And he was scathing.

He quoted a “joke” he heard from white South Africans. (All South Africans called their black houseboys “Sixpence”.)

A white housewife says “Sixpence, I’ve heard that all the Bantus are going to attack white people and cut their throats. You wouldn’t cut my throat, would you?”

“Oh no! I cut throat of missy lady next door. Her boy cut your throat.”

White South Africans knew just what they were doing.

Mandela deserves kudos for presiding over the end of white supremacy without reprisals. Compared to partition in India, it was almost completely bloodless.

South Africa has a lot of problems, mostly emanating from the Khoisan and Bantu majority.

But, ya know, the Khoisan and Bantu were there before the whites, they didn’t invite the whites to move in, and they didn’t ask to be treated as just short of slave labor for 150 years. White South Africans are in a bad place – but their ancestors built it, not Mandela. He kept it from crashing down on them.

He deserves as much respect as Robert E. Lee.

Ah, here’s another on the topic.

From 1982 until his release in 1990, he had very comfortable prison accommodation. A private cottage with a pool, fine wines brought in, a (white) personal chef, entertaining his political guests, access to a telephone… Hardly the terrible existence that we are led to believe. Not bad for a terrorist. But ask a dumbed down member of the populace, and you will only hear of the Robben Island prison cell, where he maintained “such dignity in solitary confinement to emerge as a World Statesman”… Excuse me while I roll my eyes a little more.

It’s China’s problem now.

“Mandela deserves kudos for presiding over the end of white supremacy without reprisals. Compared to partition in India, it was almost completely bloodless.”

Yeah I think you need to revisit that idea again. I’d suggest you look up what has been happening to white South African farmers over the last 20-30 years. Basically I expect a full blown genocide to take place there in the next 10 years where every single white person will die in that country. Then you can pretty much write the whole place off because it’s become a shithole and will only descend further into that pit.

Comment from Rich Rostrom

Ed: the partition of India cost over a million lives and displaced over 10 million people in a little over a year.

The farm attacks (plaasmoord) you refer too have killed about 3,000 in 20 years. See the difference?

It’s not even clear that all these farm attacks are anti-white violence rather than simple robberies. South Africa has a very serious crime problem (and nearly all the victims are non-whites).

I expect a full blown genocide to take place there in the next 10 years…

That hasn’t happened even in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, where the white supremacy regime was in some ways worse than South Africa, and the post-colonial regime has been far more corrupt and violent.

Apartheid South Africa was a racial dictatorship, the culmination of centuries of white South Africans ruling over and exploiting the non-whites. When such regimes come to an end, the usual result is violent destruction of the former rulers. The French Revolution, for instance. Or the Russian Revolution. The Chinese Revolution of 1912, in which Han Chinese massacred or expelled the ruling Manchu class. (Something I didn’t learn till recently: however Sinified the Manchus appeared to westerners, the Chinese still considered them foreigners.) Ireland in 1918-1921. Algeria.

By comparison, South Africa’s transition looks damn good, and Mandela deserves credit for that. Nearly all the whites still live there; their property hasn’t been expropriated, and the economy is flourishing (gold and diamonds are still lucrative, and wine has become a huge export industry). Non-white South Africans have become much more prosperous, and are passing through the “demographic transition”. Compared to nearly all of the rest of black-ruled Africa, black South Africa is successful – and it’s had 20 years to fail. It may yet fail – crime, tribal hostility, and corruption are all big threats – but even the U.S. may be about to “fail”, many think.

As to the Communist thing – black South Africans don’t know or care much about conditions in North Korea or Cuba, or what happened in Cambodia 40 years ago or Ukraine 80 years ago. They see Communists as “white people who helped us fight our oppressors.” So I cut them some slack.

Comment from Veeshir

Wherein Veeshir shows his utter racism by noticing reality.

The only difference in apartheid South Africa in the way the non-ruling clan was treated was that the ruling tribe was white instead of being blacks treating other blacks like crap.

That’s absolutely the only difference.

In every other sub-Saharan, African nation, the ruling tribe treats the non-ruling tribes like crap. In SA, the ruling tribe just happened to be white.

The Europeans drew nations according to what they’d taken, not according to which tribes were there, so the countries have different tribes that hate each other.

At least in South Africa they never went on a genocidal killing spree as happens all over Africa all the time.

It’s interesting how one man’s pure evil is another man’s “guy doing what he has to.”

Take Hitler and Stalin, two figures who dominate western society when it comes to atrocities and “pure evil.” However, Hitler is considered a good guy by the Chinese, as he sent assistance to the people of Nanking when the Japanese were using peasants for stabbing practice. See “Rape of Nanking” by Iris Chang, I haven’t watched the movie. I still have nightmares from the book, which I read back in 1999, it is that horrifying.

Regarding Stalin, South India still sees him as a man worthy of respect. So much so that a prominent Telugu movie star “Megastar” Chiranjeevi played characters named “Stalin” and “Hitler”both being heroes of the people. Of course, most South Indian movies are about “Heroes” of the people. Yes, I love Kollywood, Tollywood, Bollywood movies. I’m weird like that. As you are all(probably) aware, India’s hatred(at the time)of the British was deep and their anger towards the British Raj for being forced to participate in WWII was a long-held one. They had no dog in that fight, as far as they were concerned. They considered the British empire to be the aggressors and Germany and the Soviet Union as merely preemptively attacking before they were attacked.

When it comes down to it, I would say that public relations is the real evil, relatively speaking. If it weren’t for those vile scum, individuals would be forced to bear the responsibility of all their actions in the public eye.

Comment from Christopher Taylor

No telling how many bodies have piled up in South Africa since Apartheid was ended. Taken as a total package, I’d say the country is no better off under black rule. The only difference is the faces of the people in power, not the end result for the man on the street. Orderly oppression by law isn’t much different than chaotic oppression by lawlessness in the end. Racism against whites is no different than racism against non-whites.

I think we all need a pick-me-up:

A young guy in the head injury program was having setback after setback. Once a straight A pre-med student, he couldn’t do college anymore, his friends couldn’t handle his personality changes, and his long-term girlfriend dumped him rather abruptly. TBI cases, especially young ones, go through a phase where they can only focus on what they’ve lost, instead of what they still have.

He decided he’d had enough, and ordered a helium hood over the internet.

When it arrived, he took it into his room, put it on and turned on the gas. Just as he was drifting away, his mom burst in and ripped the hood off him.

“NOBODY UNDERSTANDS HOW MUCH MY LIFE SUCKS! NOBODY UNDERSTANDS HOW MUCH PAIN I’M IN!” He screamed.

Of course, instead of sounding like a tortured soul, he sounded like a guy who’d been breathing helium.

He and his mom laughed for a good hour and a half, and he’s getting on with life as it now is for him.

Feel better?

Feynmangroupie: There was a German military mission in China in the 1930s. Some historians credit the chief advisor, von Falkenhausen, with the Chinese victory at Taierzhuang in 1938. (Two Japanese divisions advanced incautiously, ignoring Chinese forces on their flanks. Falkenhausen bullied the Chinese area commander into counterattacking, which destroyed one of the Japanese divisions and messed up the other.)

However, the mission in China began in 1930 under von Seeckt. Falkenhausen took over in 1934, and was recalled by Hitler in 1938, after Germany’s new ally Japan complained. So Chinese who thank Hitler for German help are misinformed.

Rich,

It wouldn’t be the first time that people mistakenly adulate or curse someone. I probably should be first in line to accept blame 🙂

The detail that I recall was a German missionary running an actual mission, and trying to save civilians. The book was a recounting of survivors of the massacre, what they saw and experienced. The book did not discuss military or politics in any depth.
