And then everybody lost their damn minds

bwbb

“Quite literally gobsmacked and raging to see this in Asda Huntly”

“This is so damaging and we cannot possibly still be spouting this nonsense to our children”

“In my opinion, this particular phrase perpetuates rape culture.”

Ah, don’t worry ladies. It’s not for sale any more. They sold out of them.

I’m generally pretty optimistic about human history. I believe the long arc of the species bends toward common sense, with a few unfortunate detours. But, just lately, I’ve been nagged by a disturbing thought: we are old. The people who believe this shit are young. When we are gone, they will still be alive.

Is this just cheap clickbait, or the shape of things to come? Please, if you have grandchildren, do everything in your power to corrupt them to the Old Ways. Our precious t-shirt slogans depend on it.

Good weekend, all!

I just do.not have the energy required to get myself in high dudgeon any more, even when there’s something to actually be pissed (in the American, not British sense of pissed) about.

Especially something this stupid.

SJW idiocy will come to a screeching halt soon enough.

Their future Muslim overlords will have none of it.

The young have always believed stupid crap. Fortunately most of them are smart enough to learn from one or more painful lessons. Compare the support for Democrats among the 18-21 demographic in 1980 to the support for Democrats in the 55+ demographic today.

Jeff Gauch, those “painful lessons” that followed stupid crap no longer apply. Stupid crap is now rewarded.

“Boys will be boys” is right. Husband was a Scoutmaster for 10 years. I watched a lot of boys grow up under his management and leadership. The takeaway: boys need diligent attention, boundaries, and positive examples of self-discipline. The leadership lessons boys learn through Scouting last a lifetime. If you want to help “society,” volunteer with a Scout troop. You don’t have to be a Scoutmaster, just show up. You’ll find a reason to be there.

@Deborah – Amen, if I had to do it all again, I’d do even more of it.

Great reason to learn things yourself so you can teach them, and I have better memories of various 3 to 4 day camping trips or scouting projects than I’ll ever have of months spent in the office.
And stories that last a life time.

Deborah HH – Except the Boy Scouts are under assault and are caving. A bastion (redoubt?) of maleness can not be allowed to exist today.
