Shameless

Ifill questions why people assume that her book will be favorable toward Obama.

“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” said Ifill, who is black. Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”

Okay, let’s walk down the list, shall we?

▓ Ifill wrote a vomitously saccharine puff piece about Obama in Essence magazine. (Warning: Barack holds Michelle in his arms and sings. Can you take that, sunshine?).

▓ She covered Palin’s convention speech like she was sucking a lemon.

▓ She’s writing a book titled “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.”

▓ It’s set to be released on Inauguration Day — hence, she stands to make substantially more money if Obama is elected than if he is not.

▓ She’s moderating tonight’s Vice Presidential debates.

▓ If you think there’s anything wrong with that, the AP thinks you’re racist.

This election makes me feel like I took the crazy bus to Crazytown.

Farmer J, for me it started (I think) about the same time: when Slick Willy Clinton was elected. I recall being stunned and utterly unbelieving. This was probably when I slipped the shackles of objective reality and entered the twilight zone I’ve been in ever since.

Now where the fondly flaunted fuck is Rod Serling, and why doesn’t his last name have a decent T in it like other folks? See?!? Even my spellchecker wants to put a T in his name. More twilight zone.

People got into trouble for the wrong reasons due to political correctness, logic was tossed out the door, ebonics, post modernism, and logical “deconstruction” were created and foisted upon a naive public and even more naive press, and dogs started barking at me. No – scratch that last. They have always barked at me.

I moved out into the country partly to get away from the worst effects of this crap (and to bury the bodies), but it’s been only partially effective. And … I insisted on dragging it with me via satellite TV and Innertubes. Woe is I. Waaa.

We’ve all taken the crazy bus to Crazytown. Some of us are unwilling passengers, while others are fighting each other to stomp the accelerator harder.

As has been said more articulately elsewhere, members of the MSM are invested in “making history,” so are becoming more frantic and determined in their efforts to elect an unqualified candidate. Plus, the unqualified candidate has an added attraction in their eyes: he’s an unreconstructed socialist who will usher in an era of Peace, suppression of free speech, and a mandate to worship a political figure in the manner of Chairman Mao’s followers.

I am not sanguine.

Tell you what, l-brain, I truly suspect that this election is really, really the one that is gonna shape the first half (at least) of the 21st century. The knife-edge teetering is all over now: we’re gonna fall one way or another. Left or Right. Democratic, or Socialist. Forward or backward.

I guess I may have to start practicing my ersatz “sieg heils”.

And what do they do? Approve the bill the house rejected with the 700B figure pulled from someone’s ass, and attached another 100B for shits and giggles. Giving a wall street democrat a blank check over the financial market and subsidizing wool research and pirates know what else, is saving me money how?

We have already been pulled through the looking glass to the left. That is why we are all seeing crazy.

Jill – that is the never-answered question. I know the real answer is non-whites can and often are worse at racism now than the whites are, and honestly don’t recognize their prejudice as racism. The only difference is that we whites are not at the physical/social disadvantage that the slaves or non-white “indigenous populations” were in the past. So the wrongs aren’t quite as violently grievous. Whites rarely get lynched by non-whites.

lizard – I am habitually an optimist, so I think we’ll tip Right – for the moment. But I’m usually wrong.

Edit: PnB this bailout is a ripoff, has been a ripoff, and was planned as a ripoff from the beginning. There were plenty of voices screaming warnings years ago. And ultimately it’s the Repubs fault for selling out and not putting their foot down onto the Dems proposing the horseshit loan laws to begin with.

I’m royally sick of the whole bunch.

…And I’ve been back online less than five days and am already regretting my increased blood pressure. Politics suck.

We’re gonna have to find a way to fire the lot of them. I no longer believe any of them are working in WE-THE-PEOPLES best interests. I’m not convinced that most of them even have a clue what our interests truly are anymore.

Backing the truck up a ways… Jill you are racist for even questioning why only whites are racist.

Just remember, even though I see precious little oppressing right now, there is a perception of oppression… and history suggests that those who were once oppressed very quickly turn into oppressors when the tables are turned.

In other words, you will pay for your racism, you racists.

Oh, McGoo, you don’t know a quarter of it! I have to get a Fiancee Visa, which gives me six months to get hitched. (I get a biometric ID as part of this dealie. Fingerprinted! Yay!) Before that runs out, I have to get my FLR(M) — basically my married lady license. And I can’t travel until I do (or I can, but they won’t let me back in). Then, two years later, I have to get my ILR, which says I can stay forever. It involves a thing called the Life in the UK test, where I have to prove I can speak English and make a sammich (or something). And then I think it’s the following year that I can apply for a red passport. Every one of those visas is a thousand bucks (per application — don’t make any mistakes!) and a world of heartache.

And yet, by common consent, the hardest two things I’ve got ahead of me are getting the cat to the UK legally and getting a British driver’s license.

I will, no doubt, give you guys every step of this process. Good and hard.

So the wrongs aren’t quite as violently grievous. Whites rarely get lynched by non-whites.

Between 1882 and 1964, 4,743 individuals were lynched – 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites. Republicans often led the efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws. Democrats successfully blocked those bills.

Rep. John Roy Lynch, a black (1870ish)-
“More colored than white men are thus persecuted simply because they constitute in larger numbers the opposition to the Democratic Party.”

Rep. Richard Cain, a black –
“The bad blood of the South comes because the Negroes are Republicans. If they would only cease to be Republicans and vote the straight-out Democratic ticket there would be no trouble. Then the bad blood would sink entirely out of sight.”

Weetabix isn’t really like Shredded Wheat McG. Shredded Wheat are like little bails made out of fibres of…whatever it is. Weetabix on the other hand are like little bricks of compressed flakes of…whatever it is. When you pour your cow juice on a Shredded Wheat, it softens somewhat, but retains its shape. When you pour cow juice on a Weetabix, it turns into, well, mush basically. They taste pretty good though. But basically, they’re a pretty different animal to Shredded Wheat.

Your Net-fu is strong, Beanhopper. But how many of those whites were stretched by minority lynch-mobs?

But that is the thing, McGoo. I’m sure some of those lynchings were done by yahoos, but most of it was political in nature.
That is not how it has been reported. You won’t find in any school textbook (who runs the schools) the democrat perfidy in keeping their boot on the necks of blacks. From lynching, to the KKK, to the reversals of civil rights legislation, etc.

In modern times, if you look up the numbers you will find that black on white crime is higher than white on black crime. The reporting of that can be manipulated any way you want….is it because of the general breakdown of the black community and their higher crime rate overall, or is it minority lynch mobs?

Think Duke lacrosse. Think of the white couple who were tortured and mutilated a few years ago by a group of blacks just now going to trial….imagine if the races were reversed. You would have actually heard about it 24/7. Think media’s hand in all of it and the resulting politics.

I know the Dems subscribe to the idea that “the end justifies the means”, but I wonder if any of them ever take a deep breath and examine the totality of what they are doing. It’s all means (lies, and false logic, and excuses, and feel-good intentions) and no ends – or good actual results.

They are determined to use the minorities (and use them cruelly) as a means for them (the Dems) to “feel good” about themselves, and to keep power while their at it.
