Math isn’t exactly my strong suit, but…

Obama and Biden keep saying that 98% of small businesses don’t make in excess of $250,000, but that cannot POSSIBLY be right, can it? It certainly can’t mean gross receipts.

Let’s say you owned a single McDonald’s franchise open 360 days a year (round number make Weasel happy)…that that would imply a gross daily intake of under $700. Ridiculous! If you ran a shift of five people for eighteen hours at seven bucks an hour, that’s $630 right there, just in wages. Plus materials, utilities, rent, advertising…

So what the fuckity fuck are they talking about?

Of course, math isn’t Biden’s strong suit, either. Him and his three letter word, J-O-B-S.

For the umpty-umpth time, can you IMAGINE what the press would do to Sarah Palin if she said any one of the boneheaded things Joe Biden, elder statesman, says every damn day?

It’s just made-up, with the complete assurance that no one will actually question it. Of course some on our side are making up stuff too. You’re taxed on your after expenses earnings if you file as an individual, a LLC, or S-corp.

I know, because I’ve done all three over the years, they all suck. Hell, I’d be willing to pay at a higher rate if it was simpler and I wasn’t deathly afraid of screwing something up.

Hey, did you know that there is no statute of limitations if you owe taxes, but if they owe you, too bad so sad it’s been longer then 3 years.

Great, just great, California says they don’t have a return from me for 2005. I will have fun with them though. They will owe me money, they just don’t realize it yet. Hah!

Hmmmm.

“Hey, did you know that there is no statute of limitations if you owe taxes, but if they owe you, too bad so sad it’s been longer then 3 years.”

Actually if it’s federal then I think it’s 10 years.

Why?

Because I got nailed by the IRS for deductions made –10– freaking years ago that they disallowed just fricking -now-.

And who doesn’t have those records anymore?

Just call me Mr.-bent-over-the-desk-and-raped.

10 years of accumulated penalties. Holy crap.

The fuckity fuck they are talking about is that they want to punish success. Don’t you dare want or try to work hard and earn more than 250K a year you racist, unpatriotic shitbags. It is your duty to spread your wealth to those who do not want to work as hard.

They want trickle up poverty.

Oh and to add to the Obama math, he wants to ‘help’ small business by giving them an incentive of $3000 tax ‘credit’ to hire more folks.
Er…not going to help when your taxes are going to go up overall and it costs you 12-15,000 more per worker, beyond their salary to hire.

Even if the “98%” claim is accurate, it’s a “We’re going to take it from some other part of the bucket, not yours” argument. It’s specious, and morally indefensible to boot.

Unless I miss my guess…Obama is referring to making $250,000 after all expenses. If your revenues are one million and your costs are 750,000 your profit is 250,000.00

But of you are going to be taxed to death….why bother building up your business, or find ways to hide revenue or overstate your costs.

I don’t really understand all the numbers that get tossed around either, but I do know, as noted earlier herein, statistics are easy to manipulate.

In case you all haven’t seen it, here is the post from Ace’s about this topic. If the poster is correct, it looks like the numbers add up because they are redefining what a small business is?

Hah! Turns out I didn’t file my California return for that year, and I did overpay. No fines, no fees, no interest. Gimmee that overpaid tax back suckers.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to declare my horses as dependents. Well they are, they’re like children, and they sure as hell depend on me.

That is what they want. They want everyone to be dependent upon them, thus, their power is neverending.

Nicole, go look up at my patterico link and the census bureau one. That shows what is a small business and how much they make.

Bottom line, ‘they’ have no business defining what is an acceptable income for anyone.

Allen, never mind that horses are dumb as dirt and goofier than a hatful of field mice. That you own horses puts you in the Hated Upper Crusty category, and you will soon be the guest of honor at a show trial, after which your assets will be seized and redistributed.

No one said anything about the condiment package museum.

I think it’s neat. I do wonder how many of the samples end up eventually swelling up and exploding, though. You just know those hermetic package seals aren’t always good.

We used to pin up McD ketchup packets and shoot at ’em out in the Tx grasslands. Good fun for sure.

Ya know, all day I’ve been trying to figure out just who benefits from Democrats controlling the legislative and executive branches of our government. So far, all I can come up with is the poor folks economically disadvantaged and the elected few and their cronies.

Even ordinary everyday Democrats are going to suffer once they’re in charge. You’d think they’d see that coming.

but as far as the condiments go – Stoaty you are going to have so much fun in England! All hail the Brown Sauce! That stuff is so good!

But their packets of mayonaise are called Salad Cream. Here in America we could never call it Salad Cream, for the same reason we would not call our game system a Wii. Our minds are too far in the gutter for that.

Is anyone else besides me a bit disappointed in the search results for “Sam Hill”?

I wanted him to be famous for something interesting – like being the first man to have his head shoved up his own ass, or the first idiot to take a bath with an electric fan sitting on the rim of the tub. You know – something exciting, novel, or really really stupid.

Maybe he was the first man to eat an entire feather boa?

We have a cafe in our area that’s famous for its pies. Their best is a key lime and cheescake. They use a real crust-not that graham cracker crap. The key is a thinner layer of cheescake and a thick layer of keylime yumminess on top. That way the sweet creamy cheesecake doesn’t quite overtake the sour.

Comment from nicole
Time: October 17, 2008, 5:34 pm

Things in pies aren’t cheesecake to me. They need to be baked to be cheesecake. πŸ™‚

But my experiment did turn out well. I did a thin key lime cheesecake layer (with graham crust though, no patience today for the other kind) and then a layer of key lime pie, about the same thickness, with a thin layer of graham in between. Yummy. πŸ™‚ Bordering on Valhalla-ish. πŸ˜›
