Rest In Peace your Majesty.

This was the 3rd stop I made after learning of the Queen’s passing (after Ace and Insta). Been traipsing by once in a while since before your move. Appreciate they wry humor and perspective from Britain. Sending thoughts and prayers for the coming winter (and the coming reign of Charles).

Oof. Tell me. I’m going to have to swear an oath to that…errr…monarch. It’s part of citizenship.

It wouldn’t have been better under Liz. You have to swear to all their heirs, too.

Man, I hate oaths.

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022)

Queen Elizabeth II, longest reigning monarch in English history.

I have faith in the British that the country will weather the queens passing. I also have hope that one day William will ascend to the throne. As an American I am very impressed with his empathy towards others and believe that one day he will make a great king.

I remember watching HMTQ’s coronation on a B&W TV, she has been a quiet, calm presence for much of my life. The last prominent member of The Greatest Generation has passed, closing an era unlike any before it.

Sadly, BullDawgGuy, William is a hardcore eco-loon and has shown glimmers of other Justice Warrior tendencies.

Like, he vowed if he took the throne, he would DESTROY all the ivory artefacts in the royal collection. This is like unto threatening to crush puppies and kittens.

As an American whose ancestors were kicked out of most of the UK, and western Europe, I feel a strange loss. She seemed like one of the last vestiges of time honored traditions. She was impressive. Born the same year as my Mom. May she rest in peace.

I’ve always had a great deal of respect and fondness for the Queen, Yankee though I may be.

A stabilizing influence for a dwindling empire and Europe during a very trying period in history.

It’s sadder this afternoon knowing she’s gone.
Worthy or loyalty. She was a good old girl.

Rest in peace your Majesty.

There have been very few world leaders whom I respected and even fewer whom I admired. Her Majesty was one. God Rest The Queen.

Strange feeling being saddened by the loss of a world leader. This is truly a great loss, the world needs more class acts.

Start a new dead pool. It may help. After all, someone else is awaiting death and we want to guess who it is.

Yeah, I want to pick a real sweetheart this time.

Regarding William being an eco-loon, I have come to believe that eco-lunacy becomes more prevalent the richer you are.

Sadly, I too share your foreboding for England’s future Swease. The future of the western world as well. J.J. Sefton, the treasured bard of the Ace Of Spades blog, posted a truth bomb (https://ace.mu.nu/archives/400877.php) this morning that will be hated by the Left because it says what they all know deep inside…that they are not the Light but the Darkness.

Elizabeth was part of the Light. May God rest her soul.

A small story from decades ago, that I have always remembered: A man from the Queen’s public affairs office (or what ever it’s called) was speaking to a group of very young school children. The man took questions from the children and one little boy earnestly inquired, “Does the Queen like tigers, and does she wear woolly sweaters when she goes to the country?”

The man replied, “Oh, Her Majesty likes tigers very much indeed. And she always wears woolly sweaters when she goes to the country.”

Oh, no! It’s too late to fire one up this week, Uncle Al. I’d feel a little wrong about it, anyway.

God save your gracious Queen. She was an amazing individual, will be missed by many.
I’m not hopeful for the succession’s outcome.

@Stoaty…I has an uneasy feeling that William may be a populist in royal clothing. For starters the Royal Collection isn’t his to smash, it is held in trust for the Sovereign, his/her successors and the nation. What good would destroying historical art pieces do? Those elephants are long dead and trafficking in Ivory is already illegal. Reminds me of the ignorant bints who want Rueben’s fleshy ladies taken down.

Charles’ best day of his life is also the worst…today he looks a bit like the dog who finally caught a car. Ya think when Camilla is alone tomorrow she’ll do a little victory dance? I would.
