Happy St Patrick’s Day!
I didn’t think I had any Irish forebears at all, but during my free two weeks of Ancestry.com I did discover some of my people left from Irish ports. Who knows?
Also, I didn’t find any evidence my mother’s mother was French, as per legend, except for the French-sounding last name. I traced her line all the way back to a Texas home for imbeciles and decided that was enough genealogy for me.

JavaSon and his family are here from St.Louis. All he wanted was barbecue and Mexican food. He ate barbecue in Lubbock (where his in-laws live), and today we went to Chuy’s, a Mexican restaurant. Never a bad bite. He ate chicken enchiladas in BoomBoom sauce, and now the happy man is sleeping it off. BoomBoom sauce (the restaurant offers a choice of five sauces for enchiladas) looks to be butter, heavy cream, and green chilies, plus spices—an exquisite burn.
I really need to learn how to make fajitas, because they are sooo so good and crazy expensive at Chuy’s. But then I’d be making them three times a week and still be broke. Anybody reading here still using a Hibachi grill?
It finally rained! We got 1/4 of an inch. Hallelujah! Not only that, the wind is NOT blowing 50 miles an hour. Clear and cold today—just beautiful blue sky that’s blue not brown :/
