Lived to weasel again

The combine harvester turned right, I continued straight ahead and the arrow marks the spot your beloved weasel nearly got harvested. Who knew he’d drop his reel right onto a bike path?

Yes, that thing on the front is called a reel. I looked it up.

But jiminy christmas, the harvest? On the 14th of July? That’s like six weeks early. What is going on?

Also, this year there are both square bales and cylindrical ones. Two different balers, I guess. It ain’t right.

Have a good weekend, y’all!

Since no one else commented, this is a rerun.

Well, I finished the interview linked yesterday. Pretty good.

Not previously familiar with Andrew Tate (I thought he was the boss on Bewitched). Interesting fellow. Good interview. I like how Tucker lets the interviewee talk.

It was worth the 2.5 hours; you can break it up. I was drawn in, though, and I’m retired.

No need you posting links to his twitter.

Thanks again, though.

I lived 20 years in KS. One of the more remarkable things I’ve seen was on a drive in northwestern KS in harvest season. Crested a hill on a road and looked down onto a field of golden wheat…and 10 combines in staggered pattern. Golden wheat from horizon to horizon. Those 10 combines had cut only a lane thru that wheat. That’s some amazing amount of land.

Hi!

I was just scrolling around youtube and the algo suggested this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bhowbQ88fU&list=RDGMEMYQNnkCeucvXPZmorerFbHgVM7bhowbQ88fU&start_radio=1

It’s a song called Chicken Rhythm, which made me think of you; Hank Wangford (for it is him) called it ‘the stupidest song in the world’. He may be right.

The link is to the first song in a playlist. There are few in the list I haven’t listened to, but the rest of them are great! (Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats have a great name, and some really good songs.)

I have four versions of a favorite scene stored in my memory:
1. the barest green blush of emerging wheat in late summer.
2. snow on a field of ankle-high winter wheat.
3. lush spring green wheat waving in the field.
4. Combines cutting golden wheat in summer.

I always thought I’d paint the scenes, but I haven’t.

I looked on Tucker’s site and didn’t see his Twitter videos, OldFert. Unless that’s changed since last week, he isn’t reposting them there.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)
