Are you a vodka aficionado?

I bought a big 750 ml bottle of Grey Goose, a French entrant in the vodka spirits market. I hate that shit. I’m going back to Absolute after I finish this Goose Shit. I grew up on Smirnoff but along the route of shoe polish-based mixed drinks I tried some absolute swill called Pearl vodka. That was tough to swallow!
Anyhow, if you have a lot of experience with vodka, which brand do you recommend?

I sometimes keep a shot glass and a bottle of Ketel One in the freezer. Quite nice!

I hear, and it has been somewhat confirmed by Mythbusters (and myself), that if you filter cheap vodka multiple times it actually gets better.

Vodka and scotch both give me a headache, pronto. And Springbank scotch smells so dang good I want to dab it behind my ears and on my wrists (but that would be wrong). So I stick to gin or bourbon.

Stoaty, my DAR chapter secretary records the meeting on her phone as a backup to her note taking. Once upon a time I learned how to take shorthand (I must have been the last person to learn it), but I didn’t stick with it.

How often do you find pea in your vodka?

Peas and vodka, that’s an interesting cabinet.

Expresso, I am at 11 on the flabbergasted scale. I love Grey Goose, and Pearl is really good for what you pay, I have a handle handy at most times.

Absolute gives me a headache, I just don’t tolerate it as well as the others. How do you feel about Titos? Ciroc?

I just recently found agave syrup in the grocery to use as a sweetener for my Margaritas. I’m not what you would call a “big drinker” any longer.

I’m overjoyed to have discovered this valuable website. It provides me with a wealth of interesting information about everything around me, particularly the topic of the preceding article.

Smirnoff is not good but it is inexpensive. I’ve had a lot of good vodkas. Crystal Head is actually pretty good but premium price.

After spending a few years working at the local liquor store after I retired, which qualifies me as something of an expert in the field of blathering on about booze, I have found that a good potato vodka makes a great martini, and usually fails to induce a hangover unless consumed in absolutely staggering (pun intended) quantities. Give Luksusova or Monopolova a try. Both are excellent, and reasonably priced. Any vodka that mentions “grain neutral spirits” on the label is nothing more than Everclear and water, with a bit of artificial flavoring to set it apart from any contemporaries.

Mrs D has vodka, only to make vanilla.
She’s wiped out my scotch, whiskey, and bourbon, I prefer not to discuss, she’s using them in MIXED drinks.
I should have realized she was messed up, after all, she married me.
