Hmmm…

Well, shoot. I can’t upload images. It apparently gets done uploading then I get the message

“The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels.”

The image is 510 pixels wide (as are all my images). Early days of this blog, I did my damnedest to keep file sizes down as small as possible. That’s one reason I went with black and white.

This is a very, very old blog. These things mattered in them days.

I don’t know if this problem is part of the general enshittification of my software or a temporary server-side glitch. I’ll keep you posted.

I’m getting more and more warnings from web sites I use all the time that they no longer support my browser version and will stop working soon (or earlier than that). Problem is that my usual interweb browsing system is older with an old Windows OS that the browser can’t be updated on.

Gradually being kicked to the curb I am.

The Democrats were fighting for your file size rights and now….your bits, are going to starve!

Maybe some AI has decided your photo bit space is better served being used in phony case findings for lawyers?

Me, I just got a drone that generates 4 gig mp4s and realized I can’t do anything with them. It’s like watching my dad’s Super8 movies of Caracas Venezuela back in the late 60s. No sound and you can only watch it with a projector and a screen in our living/dining room 😅

If your hosting provider upgraded your version of PHP, they might have changed your PHP.INI settings to something too low. When I install Joomla I set these settings which usually fixes those kinds of errors:

memory_limit = 256M
upload_max_filesize = 64M
post_max_size = 64M
max_execution_time = 300

Some other things:

– clearing cache
– clearing old log files
– maybe out of disk quota?

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
