I…what?

I wear fingerless gloves from September to May, because I’m an old woman and my hands are always cold. I never bothered to read the little teeny tiny tag on the back of the woolly ones I wear around the house. It says:

WINTER IS HERE
MIS YEAR WILL SURELY BECOME
A SPECIAL WINTER.

A heartwarming Chinglish message for cold times.

Speaking of which, did you see earlier this week when they turned on automatic translation in Twitter and then threw all the Japanese into the American tweet streams? Or perhaps it was the other way around. At any rate, everyone had a wonderful time asking questions and chattering away. It was quite sweet.

Mine haven’t any sort of tag. Should I feel cheated?

Snow is finally gone here but we’re getting a steady week of rain, ick! At least it warmed up. Had some wild ducks swimming in a giant puddle in my back yard 🦆🦆

The new auto-translation in Twitter (can’t call it X, don’t have any problems with Musk but it’s just such a stupid name and redolent of pr0n for those of a certain age – even geniuses screw up occasionally) is great.

I’ve followed quite a few Japanese people for a while now, their model makers are next level crazy as are some of the art and photography people, but I just used to click the ‘translate’ option in the tweet. Having it translate into English is a bit handier but also slightly weird. I’ve noticed that when people retweet some foreign language tweet I’ve retweeted that it appears in my mentions in the original language, not surprising, but a bit confusing.

They’ve also added Russia, France, and I think Spain to the list and I’ve been seeing tweets from those places show up in the For You section more. Letting average people from all these countries talk to each other this easily can only be a good thing, I hope – fingers-crossed.

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
