Yes, yes…it’s a stupid Facebook meme
It’s the “what medieval owl are you today” meme from Facebook. It came across my feed earlier and I couldn’t find it when I went back to look. To my surprise, when I did an Images search, there are at least three variants. Plenty of weird Medieval owls to go around, I guess.
I’m fobbing you off with a meme because I’ve been in an all day conference about Sussex geology and I ain’t got nothing to say about it. Hope you had a wonderful Fourth! My neighbor on the corner made pie for the occasion, so I had that.

If I’m supposed to pick a medieval owl to be today, I choose #4. It looks to me as though it has been listening to a politician and is just about to snap, to postal, fly over to him, and bite his ears off and eat them for a snack. That pol should be glad it’s an owl and not a pterodactyl.
Tomorrow I’ll be #8. He looks like he has an eagle somewhere in the family tree.

Owls remind me of our Founding Fathers, wearing pantaloons and tailcoats——and standing so upright. I do like Owl #6, with those neat, orderly feathers. But I look like #7—somewhat frazzled.
I did not have a pleasant Independence Day celebration, and when I got home, I was out of whiskey! JavaMan bought me a bottle today, without being asked.
