The crossing barrier ruined my shot
And the weed. This is the charming little Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch narrow gauge railway. It chugs across Romney Marsh. And very picturesque it is, too.
They’ve had a couple of collisions with cars, in 2003 and 2005. In both cases, sadly, the driver died.
We’re standing at a fish shop buying plaice fillets. A long way to go to buy fish, but it’s a nice drive and we got to see the train.

That was Samson, rebuilt following one of the accidents not so long ago. The RHDR is one of those testaments to what good things rich men can do when they’re bored.

Hello Deborah HH! Washed, dried, dipped in beaten egg, flour and breadcrumbs, then shallow friend in olive oil for just a few minutes. We always buy it as close to the point of landing as we can, which is easy here as we’re not far from the sea. I have no idea how supermarkets manage to sell what they call ‘fresh’ fish given the distances it must travel.
