From the same clever Chinese people who brought you Pidog, it’s a picrab (they also have a Picar). I think they actually call it the Picrawler. Same as the dog, you provide the pi and the kit is the other parts. It’s especially cool in motion, I think.
It has a 5mp head mounted camera that will stream video back to your phone or computer and I’m intensely curious what the chickens would make of it, if it walked up to them and started talking.
All of these toys come with pre-programmed movements. This one lists sit, stand, wave_hand, shake_hand, fighting, excited, play_dead, nod, shake_head, look_left, look_right, look_up, look_down, warm_up, push_up. I know it will also do a dance, as that’s the demo in the video above.
The description calls this the curriculum. It’s instructions for adding modules and connecting it to various AI accounts view an API. I wonder if AI could enable it to recognise a chicken?
You know I’m going to have to do this, right?

My understanding from extensive reading of thrillers, police procedurals, and assorted other crime and macabre novels, crabs eat people only after the people are corpses. But I could be wrong.
And then there’s always the possibility that the crabs’ curriculum includes a ‘murder the human’ command.

I suppose there are overwhelming reasons to keep this thing (relatively) simple but wouldn’t it be supremely cool to have an actual decapod crab, with eight locomotion legs and a pair of big sharp pincer claws?

And now for something completely different, but it’s about a cute high performance mustelid so I hope it’s OK.
Just 20 minutes down the road from me, in Englewood FL, is Peace River K9 Search and Rescue (PRSAR). They have become quite famous for their newest team member: an Asian small-clawed otter who does underwater search and recovery, and by all accounts does it well in environments that are difficult if not impossible for humans or other animals.
He even has a Wikipedia page. Search wiki for Splash_(otter) .

Upgrade it until it can carry auto cannons.
I also recommend LRMs, they’re good for long range (yeah, it’s in the name) indirect fire.
Don’t bother with particle pulse cannons, too much heat and that thing doesn’t look like it has room for heat sinks.
