Now what?

It’s a Pico 2 W and don’t call me Shirley. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, I got it free with the Raspberry Pi subscription. It’s a microcontroller; the robot suggested hooking it up to a chickenhouse flap and a light sensor so it automatically lets them out in the morning.
Nah.
I do have a whole-ass Raspberry Pi coming. They’ve been out of stock everywhere due to data centers slurping up all the RAM – unless you bought the 8 or 16-gig version, which is more expensive than a Chromebook. They finally got 4 gigs in stock at not stupid money. I have no idea what I’m going to do with that, either.
Any pi-heads read this blog?
p.s. Aw, nobody played with Eleven Labs?

Esther Rantzen has finally left us. Uncle B will tell you who she was. A year ago she said that she was close to death with terminal lung cancer and was hoping to arrange her departure at the Davos euthanasia clinic. In the end she got too ill to travel and had to accept a natural death. Either Mrs Carl or I have been choosing her regularly for the Dead Pool.

I have a Pi (Pi Zero 2 W) that I got last year, need to get back on it this winter. I want to set it up for some home utility monitoring, like on the water heater and furnace. My goal is to monitor how often they run, and for how long. I’m quite impressed with this little computer.

Lots of Raspberry Pi project ideas here: https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en
…lots of other sites like that. You can hook up some sensors to your Pico and have them report back to the main Pi…make a little weather dashboard or something.

I’M A PI-HEAD.
My two main systems, one of which I am typing on right now, are Raspberry PI 5s. Plus I have 1 RPi4 and 2 RPi3B+ and 1 RPi3B.
I have left Windows in the dust and I am never looking back. Fook Bill Gates and fook Microsoft.
The final break is when I could assemble programs for and flash MicroChip PIC devices using RPis gpasm and gplink. Plug PK2Cmd for using the PicKit2 for flashing.
Ohhhh – if you want to get into something fun (and cheaper), try programming ESP32s. I am working on a ESP32 project right now and I am having a ball.
Old men. Embedded firmware. It’s a wonderful relationship.
