I hope McGoo’s pain is managed enough that he can be as rested as that weasel sleeping on Jack Daniel’s bottles.

I have a confession: Friday’s weasel is modeled on a photo of a dead weasel I snagged of the innernets. Roadkill, at a guess. A high proportion of weaselpics on the ‘net are of deceased weasels. They’re so little and quick and hard to photograph alive; it’s considerably easier to get a good look at them after they’ve tangled with a Buick.

So here’s hoping McGoo is feeling no pain in an opiates way, not a Buick way.

Tasha Tudor, http://www.ortakales.com/Illustrators/Tudor.html, keeps dead critters in her freezer to use as models for her children’s books.

That being said, you just had to go and ruin it for me, didn’t you? Here I am, thinking how sweet the little beast looks in his weekend after weekend restesses to find out he is truly taking a dirt nap. Dead. The Friday carcass. A red neck appetizer. Worm kibble. So, was it a ‘clean’ picture of roadkill, or did you have to photoshop any weasel juice coming out of his orifices? Bah.

Eww. Considering last week’s pic, Rage Boy slipped another notch lower, if that is possible.

Double bah……that was supposed to read ‘photoshop out any weasel juice’.

Pretty much had to redraw it from scratch. Hang on…it’s got to be around here somewhere.

Here we go:

Black-and-whitified, of course. Even in color, you can’t tell if those are flies or protuberant weaselguts. In any case, it’s Not Very Nice.

Thanks for the link, by the way. Tasha Tudor has always been a hate object for me, based on the drawings she did for the Narnia books. But the illustrations on her site were considerably better.

Well crap. A link that works. Tasha is at the bottom. –> http://www.ortakales.com/Illustrators/index.html

Pass me a bottle of that JD. Preferably one the corpse didn’t touch. Off to take my own breathing nap.

Yeah, I got the original link to work by manually stripping out the comma that got caught in it. I’d fix your original comment, but editing comments freaks me out. It feels…wrong.

Yes, I prefer your redraw much better. Very nice. You put his plumbing back in his body and brought him back to life. You have redeemed yourself Weasel.

Tasha is a very interesting character. She’s not my favorite illustrator but the way she has lived her life is quite a tale. PBS did a story about her back in the 90’s and given her lifestyle, I wonder is she is still kickin’ it barefoot in her garden at 92?

I’m about to go see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with my nomadic tribe. It looks really exciting in the preview, hope it’s good.

Wonder how McGoo’s doin. I kinda thought maybe your weasel was dead, Weasel. (that’s probably something no male wants to hear) He’s barely moved from that position in months and months and months.

There’s a pill for that, Whitish. Although wearing a tutu isn’t helping.

Dude runs a site called “pirate ballerina” — best not to inquire too closely about that tutu. Or eye patch, for that matter.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
