Well, that was inevitable

Been getting a fair amount of these lately. You?

They’re obvious phishing emails. I mean, obvious because they were auto-exiled to the spam bucket. And I live in England, for cri-yi. They actually look pretty official if you open them up.

Oh, how I worry about getting old. Have a good weekend, all!

Jeez, I had one and I ain’t even a merkin!!!

Lord knows we have our own problems with state-run medical care as it is. The first being it stinks.

They must be coming from health care dot gov. I am ‘merkin and haven’t gotten a single one!

I’d rather die from too much spotted dick than from the pretense of government compassion.

Yup – here in The Old Dominion, haven’t yet received a single piece of spam relating to O-care. Which does seem odd, as it would seem to be a bad guy’s wet dream.

As I have zero intention of signing up in any manner whatsoever, I wouldn’t care if I even saw these. Haven’t gotten any yet.

None here in Illinois.

Spammers and identity borrowers trump the current absurd usurper in digital competence and vastly outmatch him in credibility. I’m waging they probably are not ethnic Bantus who slid through Princeton on gibsmedat/ bakkaball scholarship.

The mustelid lifestyle (rough though it is) has one side advantage, seldom appreciated by namby pamby milktoast’n’beans entitlement lobby: there are hardly any old mustelids. Annie Dillard said so herself.

California is having what used to be called “the vapors”…

Shit rolls downhill, folks.

The dumbest (and therefore eeevilest-most-amusing) part of that whole thing, of course, is that, while the Big Dodo Gubmint (Non)Health Care enrollment site is fumblebungling around, crashing and smashing and voiding passwords and generally f**king up major-league (Top.Men! doin’ that there thingy, I’ma tell’a youse…), the spammer/virus/i.d.-stealer/Nigerian-schemin’ sites are doubtless very efficiently an’ effectively handling the volume, “registering” all that lovely, lovely, voluntarily-loaded data (this is potential profit-makin’ sh*t bein’ collected here, dood! Capitalistic Criminalism, all the way down!!), and racing off into the Intartoobs, giggling madly with dee-light…

Worst part, of course, is that the scammer stuff will undoubtedly deliver even less “insurance coverage” than the Big Sh*tty Gubmint setup; likely best part is, it will probably, in the end, be less expensive for the “participants” that the Big Hugely-Overpriced Gubmint setup.

So you made me wade through my SPAM filter. Yuck. I need a quick dip in bleach now.

Yeah, I had a couple of those emails, too. *delete* All gone.

Sweasel and Timothy – are you getting those from a dot gov source? Or from your current private insurer?

I’ve not gotten anything like that. I also have never “registered” at OFA or the WH or Healthcare dot gov websites by giving them my email address (any of them).

D’oh! My eyes slid right past “They’re obvious phishing emails.” Cue Emily Litella.

I dared not click on the ‘Name’ link, but some spamster got through on the “It’s Crazy Bitch Friday!” (November 18th, 2011) of the forum, Sweas.

I don’t have a ‘current private insurer’. So not from that source. And I wasn’t about to about to dissect the email and rummage through it’s guts. I already felt dirty enough. Ugh.

Hey, Sweasel – we need a photoshop of Obama as President Emily Litella. The ‘nevermind’ woman from SNL. EL hair, glasses, clothes, but Obama’s face. Seems like he’s saying ‘nevermind’ quite a bit lately.

I never worry about getting old. You live long enough and it just happens.

Your Hobgoblin ale inspired me to used a little chocolate malt in my most recent batch. A little goes a long way!

I haven’t received any of those.

I mostly get furrin language spam, my email address is my name so they must think I’m Thai, Indian or Hispanic apparently.

Write a comment

(as if I cared)

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
