Spare a thought for me…

Do you have ANY IDEA how hard it’s going to be to act sad today?

Sadly, my neighbors and co-workers weren’t nearly as salty as I expected. All kinds of hostility in the run-up to the election, and now just a little languid and fatalistic moo.

But social media — that’s a different story. I have wasted (!) most of the day enjoying the beautiful deluge of salt on Twitter, Facebook, and the rest. O frabjous day!

It surely is dawning on EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE that we have been incredibly badly served by the media and pollsters (not counting Drudge).

Trump may well make a lousy president, but he has well and truly smashed the Clinton Machine forever. And for that, my gratitude.

Yup. I was unbelieving all day as it unfolded. I thought for sure we would be saying “President-Elect Clinton” by the end of the day. Finally got the official word of Trump’s victory around 2pm and bought food and beer for the crew. And they put up with me as we ate, drank, and I laughed at the leftist reactions on social media.

Savor this feeling while it lasts – soon we will need to herd Trump to do the right things. And that, I fear, will be as easy as herding cats.

Republican House AND Senate AND President, too. It was after 9 pm before I started watching the returns and I was up until 2:30. I’ve never seen Trump look so grave, and he was modest and gracious in his victory remarks. It was hysterical watching all the losers—especially the ones at ABC, CBS, NBC.

As soon as I opened Google search this morning and they were no congratulatory fireworks memorializing their chosen candidate’s victory, Donny boy had stuck it to ’em.
Can’t say how many times I’ve read how many #nevertrumpers were voting for him just to bring down the corrupt media.
They still haven’t grasped their irrelevance – yet.

They must be having a hell of a time getting the old girl vertical this morning for her concession speech. Over an hour late, but it’ll be worth it. Has any other candidate waited this long for a public concession?

I too live in CA but in a solid red county where the Proud to be Deplorable signs appeared like mushrooms after the first Autumn rains.

I lived in the Bay Area for years and became quite good at putting on my “I don’t want to talk about it” face…then go into the ladies room and do a little happy dance.

Or you could shrug and assume a “I’m a Brit now so it’s got nothing to do with me” attitude.

In SoCal, the secret handshake of Trump supporters is to fly an American flag. So in my ‘hood, we have about 6 Trumpsters who are willing to let other Trumpsters know.

I gave up on the election about 7 PM PST when they announced Hillary had huge leads in Florida and Ohio AND Georgia was still “unknown”. We watched 3 Vera’s back-to-back and went to bed. At midnight, Mrs turned on NHK to watch some Japanese show. Across the top of a show on “cooking rice for your raw squid surprise”, the ticker said TRUMP WINS!

We both nearly passed out. Mrs ran to her blog (TreeHouse) and sure enough the impossible had occurred.

BTW, the media early call in Ohio and Florida was nothing more than a try at demoralizing Trump voters. Same with the claim about Georgia. I really hate those guys, as Indiana Jones would say.

I suffered thru the smugness of all my young, dumb and full of cum liberal coworkers on Tues as they lectured me that voting vagina was important because…vagina! I was actually off today. Woke up and slowly savored my coffee while I witnessed their lamentations/ melt downs on facebook. I then spent the day drinking wine and supporting the American economy. The wine was excellent and I spent an obscene amount in support of capitalism. Revenge is best served buzzed and in cash!

I was suspicious about Hills cancelling the fireworks show. I follow 538 and he gave Trump a slight edge in many states but it did not add up to 270. I started seeing brits betting large amounts of money on Trump winning, even cashing out money they previously bet on Clinton and putting it on Trump. I looked at HotAir comments and some people were saying he had won all these states tho it was not reported else where. They were very very specific. And then it came crashing down like a house of cards for Clinton. I never thought we would get PA, WI or MI. I was up until 130am, crashed until 4am. Now I am exhausted.

It was such a roller coaster and I wish I could relive it. 🙂

I carefully avoided all news yesterday and intended to do the same today and just deal with the Hillary-licking love bath on Thursday, but my wife woke me this morning and asked if I had seen the news. I explained my position and pulled my pillow over my head. She made me get up and look at the TV. I have been giggling all day. As a side note, my hobby brings me in contact with a bunch of academia style liberals; we have a ‘chat group’ on ‘What’s App’… and while there are usually several posts per day, it has been totally silent for 18 hours now. giggles

I also refused to watch any news; Animal Planet ran a marathon of “Too Cute,” which is nothing but kittens and puppies from birth to adoption. Against all odds…Capitalist America finally got its CEO.
It is simply mind bending to think we have finally won and won in a kick-ass way. We have a Republican majority Congress and a net gain of 3 Republican governors (The GOP flipped control of state executives in Missouri, Vermont and New Hampshire.) That means the party will hold the governors’ offices in at least 33 states. (A magic number should we need to convene a Constitutional Convention!)
Simply amazing. In the words of Michelle Obama; “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country …”. Except for the fact that I was always proud…just disappointed at the leadership. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THE DEPLORABLES!

No where else to share this it won’t get buried, I’ve been nourishing myself on the tears of the media all day. My Hot Take: This is America’s post-progressive moment, much like Russia’s post-Soviet moment that brought them Boris Yeltsin. We got Donald Trump. The EU is collapsing, Progressivism is eating itself globally, and the globalist elite are having conniption fits that their control is in jeopardy. Trump is the dog that finally caught the raccoon…it’s gonna be interesting to see if he’s ready for the claws and teeth. I have to admit, the globalists thinking the USA will be lead by a mescaline-addled frat-boy running at them with a raging boner kind of makes me smile. Can’t wait for the next Davos get together!

Republicans swept through our city and state, as well, grabbing up every office worth taking. A fantastic night. We’re still trying to shake the feeling we’ve been jolted into an alternative universe.

Someone’s little darlings are already venting their wrath in the nation’s streets. Four of them, geniuses that they are, have set up GoFundMe accounts to raise money for hit men to eliminate the president-elect.

I took off from work this week too. I didn’t watch any of the “coverage,” as there was nothing I could do that I hadn’t already done. Went off to bed, got up early, watched a syndicated rerun of Robert Culp in “Trackdown.” Then, finally, I got the nerve to switch over to the local news. TRUMP IS 45TH PRESIDENT it blared, and my cats looked at me oddly, no doubt wondering why I was laughing all morning like a very young human.

Of course now the spoiled brats are “protesting,” which in their case includes vandalism. Several have been quoted as saying “Trump is not my president.” Well, goofballs, I haven’t had a president in eight flippin’ years, whaddaya think of that?

And I’ve very glad that it was a clear victory so we don’t have to go through the “hanging chads” routine from 2000. Thunderbiscuits, as I call her, has no way to wiggle out of this one. Heh, heh, heh . . .

I don’t love trumpie, but a smarter friend said to me the day before the election: “Two words, Supreme Court”. Convinced me.

First clue I had about the possible outcome was after I early voted, I had the “I voted” sticker one my lapel and no less than three African_American black people at separate times that day nodded at the sticker and said words to the effect that it was one strange election.
