Ugh. What a tool.

“There are some in Congress right now who would rather see their opponents lose than see America win.”

This from a man who has done nothing but blow with the wind, hoping to prop up his re-election chances.

I think this is what I hate most in the modern Left: that absolute flat refusal to acknowledge that the other guy has a philosophy.

Liberal and conservative ideas are hardly new. They both have a pedigree, a body of supporting literature, a track record of successes and failures. They are two competing and largely incompatible sets of beliefs about how the world works.

But to Obama and his handmaidens in the media, everyone knows the liberal answer is the only answer. You either do it their way or you lack education. Or he needs to ‘splain some more. Or you’re playing politics. Or you’re dumb. Or evil. It’s like the last few hundred years of political dialogue never happened for them.

It has to be a pretense. It sure is rage-making.

As I have said before, we are headed towards a great civil war. And soon.

Nothing so complicated: just pure arrogance. They live in an echo chamber, and have all of their lives. Conservatism is not a philoshopy to be understood, it’s a Rolling Stone photo of Nixon boarding a helicopter. There’s nothing more they need waste their time trying to understand. It’s below them.

Fuck them. I think we all Aim To Misbehave this go-round.

I’m smarter than Obama. Better educated. Better read. More courteous and willing to listen to contrary points of view, to boot. Hell, if your point of view is sufficiently persuasive, I might even change my mind. I have changed my mind, on several topics, as part of my political and philosophical maturation. In my experience, Leftists are not like that.

Personal anecdote (bear with me): 15/16 years ago I worked in a University in the north of England. This was at the kick-off of the ludicrous expansion of students in tertiary education, from its historical, and sustainable rate of 7-10% of young adults to the goal of 40-50%. The bargain was, if you were smart enough, you went to university and the government paid, but ‘smart enough’ essentially meant IQ of 130+. In return, you got a damn good job, were an active contributor to society, and paid more than your fair share in taxes. For 50% to go meant an IQ threshold of 100, and 100 is pretty fucking thick, at least when it comes to a three year honours degree in an academically-challenging subject. So, the question naturally arose, even given that this was a desideratum in itself (which was a monstrous act of question-begging), who was going to pay for it? It seemed fairly clear to me that the existing grant mechanism was unsustainable, so there would have to be some kind of primary contribution from somewhere other than central taxation. This, of course, contradicts one of the central dogmas of socialism: that there are no innate human differences and that diversity of outcome is societal, discriminatory, hegemonic, phallocentric or some such bullshit. The usual strident Socialist Workers’ Party group (none of whom had ever done a day’s work in his life) set up a stall outside the main building one afternoon, so I strolled over to have a discussion. I put it to them that if they wanted half of society to go to university it was a bit rich asking the other half to pay for it. Instead of reasoned debate, I received the following, closely-argued rejoinder: “fuck off, you fucking Tory scum.” Masterful. Could have been Cicero.

Well, things are not looking good here in “The land of the free, and the home of the brave.” I would hate to see it break down into actual violence/rebellion, but I have to admit that that possibility no longer seems as remote as it once did. Nothing to do but re-stock the ammo locker and hope for the best. Blew off almost a thousand rounds the other weekend at a family Schutzenfest, and that needs to be replaced. And augmented.

I noted (with black humor) the other day that the police in London issued a statement RE the “rights” (heh) of residents to self-defense. Nothing quite like being (as we say here) “a day late and a dollar short.”

Oh, and Stoaty? Somewhere in your blog toolbox, there’s a Ban Stick. Find it and use it, dear. Don’t let some sort of Aquarian blogging philosophy interfere with taking out the trash, eh?

Every single marxist I’ve ever had the ignorant hubris to think I could debate with has always resorted to the, “Well, that’s because they didn’t do it the way Marx inteeeeeeeeeeeended.” Yup, nothin’ inherently evil about a secular government enforcing an equality based on the morphine-addled rantings of a syphilitic anti-semite at gunpoint, it’s just that the implementation was flawed.

Stark Dickfluessig,

Please decipher the syphilitic anti-semite with fondness for opiates. Got to be Nietzsche?

Marx was a German to the extent that Roman Polanski was Polish, Dominique Strauss Kahn was French, Anthony Weiner was American, etc.

Marxist Geist thrives in the arid Mediterranean land reclaimed from Egyptians, Jordanians, and other, er, camel&donkey enthusiasts. High taxes, free healthcare, free education, disregard for property rights, etc.

But before I earn a few basketfuls of rotten eggs as an inviting target for philo-semites, I hasten to add that I for one welcome our kosher overlords. American people are notoriously provincial, isolationist and parochial. We are endlessly told how demeaning it is that 3%, 5% or 12% of population has a passport.
See, a nation of such yokels cannot be trusted to reliably pick the proper enemies and find an outlet to pour military and financial aid to a trusted friend.
We are indeed most fortunate that a cosmopolitan selfless friend like The Chosen Ones stepped forward and assumed the burden of guiding us to what is Right and pleases YHWH like the scent of burnt ox, maybe more.

I’ve been concerned with the vast numbers of people receiving “college degrees” for a couple of decades now. My basic take is that (here in the US ) our high schools have become so poor that the new college degree equals the old high school diploma.

Additionly running a “Community College” has become very profitable since 80 percent of your students will be using some thing called “Pell Grants” which means -as pointed out above- we fucking Tory/Republican scum are footing the bill for the masses who could never graduate no matter how easy the school makes the courses since successful graduation from high school is not one of the requirements to receive an educational grant.

The general philosophy of the Left seems to have three main planks:

1. Wouldn’t it be nice if (insert X)?
2. Things would be perfect if you would just give us enough money to (insert X).
3. Only someone ignorant and cruel (very cruel indeed could disagee with (insert X).

If that’s not crossing the line, you might want to hire a survey crew and have that line re-set. Remember, Chaz used to keep pet trolls, and you don’t want to follow the Path of Chaz.
