OT: Heh. Sereno, the lead detective on the Zimmerman case, got booted back to uniform patrol and on nights. He used a device to record the cctv camera when GZ came into the police station. This was given to ABC who then falsely spun it as showing that GZ had no injuries.

I think we are up to 12 fires going now. At least the High Park Fire is heading out into the back of beyond where there isn’t much except beetle kill trees, at least until it gets to Walden.

Beetle kill in the Ponderosa pine, Spruce bud moth kills in the fir and spruce…Add to it the fact that most people who live here choose to completely ignore the fact that they (we) are living in a climate zone that is *SUPPOSED* to burn ohhhh, ever 7 to 14 years!!!….And for nearly a hundred years now, humans have suppressed fires, curtailed almost all logging, and allowed the forests to become dense and overgrown, creating the environment that fosters this kind of conflagration. Add in the meteorological patterns that have purty much shut off the spring rains and the summer monsoonal flow, and y’all are witnessing the horrific results.

Its sad, and heart wrenching for the human population and
devastating to the flora and fauna, all of whom live in this beautiful and perilous region. My prayers go out to those displaced and those who stand in harms way on the front lines fighting, flying and those as work as support personnel.

Thanks the the NFS/BLM bureaucrats and their Smokey the Bear campaign of utter horse puckey!
