Ack! I’ve brokened it!

Messing with my sidebars last night apparently pissed Explorer off. My content is all shoved down below the right sidebar, and I didn’t realize it because I don’t fire up IE at home unless I have to. I can’t fix it from work, because something in the firewall times me out when I try to access my bloghost control panel. Not something I’m inclined to complain to the Helpdesk about, know’m mean?

So, we’ll have to crouch down here below the fold today. C’mon. It’ll be fun. We can build forts out of blankets and couch cushions and eat grilled cheese sammiches and watch cartoons.

Update: Fixed! But the sammiches and cartoons are still on!

Go, Weasel!
I will watch from right here on the sidelines (where its safe) as you utterly destroy this minor annoyance with your Blog-Fu powers!

Got it. For once, our miserable network let me through to Bluehost. I had an hspace=”10″ statement in the award graphic that I put there when it was in a post. That made it too wide for the sidebar. Opera ignored it, but IE gave it its extra 10 pixels and shoved the content panel down below.

Um. In case anybody was interested 🙂

Do you have a mobile-friendly version, perhaps? On my mobile device I have to scroll down through all your links and other wonderful and entertaining stuff to get to the posts or, on a post’s page, to a post. Not a major issue, but just wondering if there’s some technique I may not be aware of.

In any case, your talent makes all the scrolling certainly worth it!

Huh. There was mobile-friendly code in the base theme I worked from, but I coded this one minimalist. I’ll have to see how complicated it was (it was basically giving different dimensions for moviel applications).

Boy, you Crackberry users really live on those things, don’t you?

Guilty as charged!

I used to get on my computer every day. Now I get on perhaps once a week.

Don’t go through any coding or stuff. Jeff Goldstein’s blog “protein wisdom” has a mobile-friendly version, and so was wondering if yours might. If not, no problem. I can access, read, and comment, and those are what count.

Nah, I’ve been meaning to revisit the theme.

The other thing I’ve never done is set it up for RSS. I tried a client for a while and didn’t like it. Plus, Opera will now automatically syndicate anything you ask it to, so I assume other browsers will, too.

Am I missing mad, crazy traffic by not having that little RSS feed thingie in my sidebar?

I don’t know about mad traffic, I’ve never figured out the RSS stuff either.

I don’t use a blackberry, but I my cell phone is a Treo.
I can surf the web with while I wait for car salesmen to check with their sales managers. Maybe surf is the wrong term, it’s more of a dip your big toe in and wait for your hair to feel wet.

I can read most wordpress stuff OK depending on the theme, sometimes the margins load first and I have to scroll through 3 or 4 pages to read the posts, and scroll again to read the comments.

It would probably be much better if I knew how to set it up to read the feeds. Oh, and in case you didn’t know, rust proofing and floor mats are NOT included.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
