Christmas came early

Please. Stop. I can only take so much schadenfreude. Twitter has been a delight today. (Above is antifa, flailing their little noodly arms at London police tonight).

Turns out, this was Labour’s worst showing in an election since 1935.

But my favorite story was the LibDems. They were the only party that ran specifically on the slogan “Stop Brexit” and were poised to pick up all the Remain voters who were disenchanted with Labour’s waffling on the issue. At one point, it looked like this election could really revive their brand.

Two things happened. First, even a lot of Remain voters had second thoughts about totally ignoring a democratic vote.

And second, their leader, Jo Swinson, did the talkshow circuit in the runup to the election. She stubbornly and repeatedly insisted that there was simply no reliable way to tell human males and females apart.

Turns out, her party took very large money from a company that makes puberty blockers. This enraged the feminists who might otherwise have voted LibDem. She ended up losing her own seat by 149 votes.

But the best moment in the election was Diane Abbott’s shoes.

Transsexuals versus feminists (particularly lesbians) is a hilarious slapfight over here, but there are some mighty litigious folks within it. My immigrant ass doesn’t want a piece of that, thanks.

Oh, my great giddy aunt….Does she belong to the Very Silly Party?

She wasn’t the only politician peddling that line, but she was the only party leader.

The debate around Self ID is hotting up here. The UK has not adopted Self ID, but the authorities are acting as if (and in some cases declaring positively) that it has. As I said, it’s litigious and very entertaining, but I don’t want to figure in the debate.

My heartiest congratulations. If ANTIFA is rioting in London, I will chalk it up as another failure of the Brit Police’s non-use of deadly force doctrine.

One of the more pleasant bits of news about the election over there was when I heard that of the 20 some defectors from the Conservative Party that left to stop Brexit, all 18 that ran again found “that their appeal became more selective” and they all lost badly. I also heard that 3 “lost their deposits”. I think I have heard something about candidates having to post a [minimal] bond in order to run. Is there a minimum percentage of the vote they have to get to get the money back, or is it they lose it if no one votes for them?

I assume somewhere the shade of Boudicca is smiling at the consternation of the European mainlanders.

SB: 500 pounds, refunded if the candidate gets 5%.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Odd about the shoe thing. Can she perhaps not feel her feet – Neuropathy? Maybe she was in a hurry and just shoved whatever was closest on and rushed out the door. If just sloppy then surely it’s something she would have done before and somebody would have noticed. Then lastly, it may be the gears are slipping. The elderly don’t care greatly about appearances.

There’s speculation there’s something really wrong with her, Mitch. She’s not a bright woman, but she frequently appeared on TV speaking for Labour…until the past few weeks.

Now just a darned minute.

Are you telling me hurt feelings don’t qualify for a forced re-vote until they get a satisfactory outcome?

Next you’ll be telling me they won’t all be getting their much sought after “I was alive in 2019” participation trophies as a reward for their hard work at existing.

Best summed up by – Richard Littlejohn (paraphrased)- less a reaffirmation of the Brexit vote rather than a damning repudiation of those who spent the last 3 years stopping it.

I’m here in ‘merica and why do I care? Because I don’t much like the globalist elite. We didn’t spend the last 200+ years overthrowing aristocracies hither and yon just to replace them with wealthy oligarchs.

It seems that she intended to send a message. It looks like she’s wearing 2 left shoes. Perhaps she hopes to go out dancing later?

I wonder if anybody has checked to see if maybe Abbott has two left feet.

Congratulations on how your vote went the right way. Hopefully we’ll see an equally convincing outcome here next November.

I fear that we’re going to see violence here in the states in the near future over all of this, both Antifa directly and left-wing false flag operations. The MSM will be happy to go along with such tactics, of course.

Not to be sexist, but this man Boris seems to have done what Lady Teresa May could not. Hmmmm. Are men better leaders after all?

It seemed both PMs said the same things about making the UK great again. But Boris really got the job done.

Or was it just plain voter fatigue. For God sakes, just get on with Brexit!

Anyway, Boris Johnson was the man!

Ha! When I really like an article of clothing or shoes I will buy several in other colors, or materials. One morning whilst running late I quickly stepped into a pair of black loafers and ran out the door. Half an hour later sitting in commute traffic I noticed that I had a black suede shoe on one foot and a black leather shoe on the other. That was the one and only time I gave a client presentation in gym shoes.

I have a Chicken related question for Her Stoatliness: Chicken Sweaters – yes or no? I have a niece who has chickens and has expressed interest in a thing going around on bookface about chicken sweaters. Comments suggest they’re probably not a good idea. Any thoughts?

Eh. It’s probably better than cats in sweaters. Chickens don’t seem to bothered by physical restriction, poor things.

I’ve heard of it being done for practical reasons, when a chicken molts in cold weather.

Re Abbott:

Does anyone else remember the last scene in The Longest Day, with shot-down RAF pilot Richard Burton, American paratrooper Fabian, and a dead German with a footwear issue?

Briefly confused by the …British[?] language stating: “wearing to odd black shoes”

or is that Proggie Proper[TM]?
