Floor porn
In yesterday’s thread, BJM posted a link to these engineered recycled wood planks. And very lovely they are, too, but not quite right for Badger House. Everything in this house looks like it was gnawed into its present shape by woodland creatures and then left in the rain for 100 years.
There’s not a large enough area of floor showing upstairs to demonstrate what I mean. I tried to find something similar online and found the mother of all floor porn sites. Look at that parquet!
Each floor is a one-off project, and takes on average 6-9 months from first enquiry to completion. We only take on 5-6 projects per year.
No, we are not in that bracket. That is rockstar money. That is Henry VIII money. We’re hoping for a hod of old bricks and lad who is clever with his hands.
Boris has fallen. I’m not a fan – he was a pretty awful PM – but his hounding out was clearly a media-orchestrated coup. And the lot mostly likely to vie for his job are a dreadful pack of globalists, remainers, greenies and people who think some women have dicks.
I despair.

On WarRoom this morning, Bannon interviewed his European Correspondent, @Harnwell, who said that Boris had not resigned as PM but had simply agreed to a new election in the fall, around Octoberish. I dunno. I’m just repeating a story at this point.

@Stoaty…Ooooo those are gorgeous…yeah those fancy pants floors were way too expensive for us too. We bought two lots of white oak at auction and found an artisan floor guy who was very reasonable…so we got the 50 shades of grey wide plank look. However, they aren’t wearing well under the feet of three large dogs…even well-manicured dogs. We even drove to Nevada to buy the illegal in California stains and old-school matt finish sealer. So this time we’re going with engineered flooring.
Have a squiz at this site…parquet in a dark color might do the trick…or look a the porcelain tile wood textures and colors. I’d guess that a tile layer would be cheaper than a wood floor installer.
This Autumn should be interesting what with our mid-term elections and yours across the pond. Shirley, the electorate won’t return Labour or the Dems.

Don’t start me on floors. We just finished building a house in Bulacan, and all of the floors are tile and … let’s just say I’m not happy with the workmanship. Gaps, cracks, and tiles that aren’t flush. Ugh.
BTW: new theory on the Georgia Guidestones – lightning strike. Look at the CCTV video of the explosion and yeah, I can see it.
It might explain why the car that was there took off like a bat outta hell – it probably scared the carp outta them and they didn’t want to stick around to take the blame.
