Anybody seen that damn donkey?

elephantsbutt

Yeah, I was hoping for a Republican blow-out. I’m disappointed the Hoffman race wasn’t a win, but it was a squeaker. Reading around the web this morning, it seems everyone — right, left and gooey caramel center — is claiming NY-23 just goes to show everything I’ve been saying all along was dead right.

Me, I’m not sure you can draw much of a conclusion from an endgame that tight. Casper Milquetoast went from single digits to within two points of the win in a month. With the DNC clamped around one ankle and the GOP clamped around the other.

Anyhow, let’s take a moment and appreciate Virginia and New Jersey. Not for the wins, for the turning of the tide

But… but.. my observations were insightful and original!

You should actually do a revised version, with the Donkey under one side, and a Rhino (or RINO) under the other side…. 😉

My guess is Hoffman could have won with a little bit more polish and some better backing but ultimately it would have been meaningless anyway: New York’s assembly is never going to be anything but controlled by Democrats.

Best comment I heard about NY-23 was, I think, made by Michael Barone who said, “In a year, people will be saying, NY..what?”

Did you see the actual ballot? No kidding, it was something like this (hat tip to a poster on Hot Air):

They won NY-23 by treachery. They’ll lose it in 2010. Tricks don’t last. The liberals assume all America is stupid. How the ballot appeared to the voters in NY-23, because Owens represented two parties, and dropped-out Dede too – confusing to say the least:

1. Democratic – William L. Owens
2. Republican – Dede Scozzafava
3. Independence – Dede Scozzafava
4. Conservative – Douglas L. Hoffman
5. Working Families – William L. Owens

NY-23 wasn’t a NY assembly seat, Christopher. It was a real, live US Congressional seat. Nancy got herself another vote last night(theoretically) which is why she was so chuffed.

The most important aspect is that it will scare the Blue Dogs into caution and possibly, just possibly, stiffen the spines of RINOs like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe. If Dingy Harry doesn’t get a bill out this week that’s pretty much it for the year and then we’re into the 2010 primaries. If healthcare and Cap and Tax are kicked into the long grass, it will invigorate Republicans/Libertarians and enrage the nutroots. Obamessiah becomes a lame duck, and in 2012 we send him packing.

At least that’s the plan.

The donks nor the rethugs get it. They still don’t know what is happening right in front of their faces.
Oh to be a fly on the wall when the document parties are wide spread across the country!

It’s good, but my favorites are still and .

The colors in “No Moar” are my fault, but I wanna see “Wanna RASSLE?” on mugs & tees…possibly with a runny weasel over the top? Or maybe the bottom…to point back here of course.

Speaking of weasel, I would like a mug with your header on the Zazzle site on it – Unleash the Weasel! And if I ever get a job again, I’d take it to work & advertise your site. Can you do a “wraparound” design on a mug? I know Cafe Press does a lot of those old fruit crate labels that way. (I know this because I have them – love love love those old label graphics)

Oh, and another vote for “Wanna Rassle?”

Pelosi may have another Democrat in her House, but not a vote. Owens specifically ran against the public option. Had Dede Scozzafava been elected she would’ve given Pelosi an extra vote for Obamacare. The WH and Pelosi can spin this all day long but their mojo died in NJ and VA and Obamacare is sucking air thanks to the conservatives (with Palin leading the charge) yanking Dede out of the race.

I’m not getting cocky here, mostly because I have no cock, and 2010 will be more important, but I did think last night deserved a beer or two.

LMAO!! That photo is the only thing that’s made me laugh all week. Yesterday’s elections and this photo just may portend a ‘V’ shape recovery in my foul mood of late.

OK, I just HAD to share this one…

The year is 1947

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell , New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. . Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses?

I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It did for me.

No wonder they support the bill to help illegal aliens!

Awwwww…geez, Nicole. You have to wait for payday? I feel awful.

Why don’t you save your money for…I dunno…a delicious potato. And a warm scarf. Winter’s coming, you know.

Weasel, here’s my idea. Instead of a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag we need a “Release the Weasel” flag. The number ordered sets the price, plus some filthy profit for you.

Who wouldn’t proudly fly the Weasel? Wot think?

Nah, my last name isn’t Twist, yannow. I just need to wait for payday because I did lovely things like going to the spa with last week’s disposable income and we fixed a chimney and plumbing as well. 🙂 I love buying art. Makes me feel all… patrony and such.

Are you doing Guy Fawkes this year, Weasel and Badger? It’s pretty big down your neck of the woods (Suusex, isn’t it?). Although with this current lot you have to admit he had a point.

Okay, Dawn, that IS funny.

We just got back from one of the local ones, David. Yes, it’s HUGE in Sussex. Goes on for week after week. Lewes is the biggest one on the 5th, but they told people to stay away this year. Getting too big and out of hand, I guess. I think we’ll go to one other this year.

I’ll blog this one, if Uncle B got a good picture. My battery died early in the evening.

Got a weaselbanner in the pipeline, Allen (though I don’t think they make flags there). So far, it’s not coming out so good. Problem is, when you do graphics big enough to print, it enables you to zoom in to teeny, tiny details. That encourages fussiness and overpolish. Artistic sins to which I am especially prone.

Cool, I’ll keep an eye out. I know what you mean about fussin’ with something. I usually take it to the extreme where I end up having to start over. Attention to detail is a nice euphemism for obsessively fucking with something as is my case.

Comment from S. Weasel

Hm. I’d have to redraw the graphic, Scoob. Which might or might not capture the <koff> charm of the original. I’ll put it on the Big List o’ Ways I Might Squeeze A Few More Pennies Out Of My Pretend Internet Friends.

The old saying, Allen — it takes two to do an oil painting. The other guy is for hitting you in the head and making you stop.

Heh. I’ll put ol’ Schroedinger on a shirt if you like, Scoob. I’m thinking of adding another, separate shop for cat pitchers and such. Not linking it back to the political one, so I can pick the pockets of people who wouldn’t like my politics.

I’ve got an unlimited appetite for and supply of cat pitchers, as y’all know. And the world is full of crazy cat ladies.
