Me, I’d be all, like, GRRRRR

No. No, no, no. Huma Abedin’s “more saddened than angry” reaction to her husband’s willy-waving is just not plausible.

Yeah. No. Don’t bother reminding me of other political wives who stood by their men. Those ladies had years, whole lives, children with in their shitbag spouses. They had incentive.

Abedin and Weiner had been married one month when he took up with this blackjack dealer. Married, July 10. First contact on the FaceBook transcript, August 13.

One month. Newlyweds.

Very public marriage. Googlable.

So when he sex-talked this Vegas lady, he effectively said, “sexually, emotionally — my brand new wife doesn’t cut it.”

I don’t care if Huma Abedin hails from a culture where multiple wives is the norm, they still have jealousy where she comes from. “Sad” would have nothing to do with it — I would be incandescent with rage at the insult, never mind the rest of it.

I mean, unless I’d married a career path instead of a man.

Yep. 100% in agreement. White-hot, incandescent, righteous, RAGE.

The impression I’ve gotten watching this unfold
is that what Weiner really wanted was to have his EGO massaged. Really, the communication all seemed so self-referential — asking if he looked great, preening, clever camera angles designed to maximize a probably uninspiring package…just a way to stroke his
self-esteem. As for his wife’s rage, well, she’d have to give a damn to get enraged. She seems pretty detached, to me.

She DOES have a baby – on the way – with this man. He will be in her life forever, even if she does divorce him. That would catapult me right past “sad” to “clinically depressed.”

For Crabby Old Bat:
As we’ve discussed before, what makes you so sure the baby is by this man? And the group she runs with views abortion as a blessing, so that option is there as well. Or she might just miscarry as a result of all the right-wing hatred directed at her family. And of course ABCNNBCBS and their dead-tree fellow travelers would investigate carefully to make SURE the first wasn’t disguised as the second.

By the way, his district still WANTS him:

I’m pretty secure in my relationship with my man…..we’ve been together over 30 years. He can look at a pretty girl and comment on her while sitting with me. Odds are, I’ll agree with him. But if he were to cross the line from admiring the view to soliciting more of a view, I’d rip his nuts off. You can multi-culti this shit anyway you want, but in civilized society this behavior crosses the line.
As Ann Coulter put it “no wonder liberal women think men are pigs….their men ARE pigs.”

If she married a career path, she’d still be mad, because he’s screwed that up now.

I’ll bet 3 to 1 on the career path, with Huma having faint hopes of salvaging it, a la’ Bubba and Billary.

And even money that Huma tragically miscarries in a month or two, a la’ Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy.

Comment from PatAZ

It seems too convenient to say she is pregnant. Perhaps this is to help get him past the shame and then announce a miscarriage. This is sad to say, but with people like this, it’s a good possibility.

Other than that, I agree 100% also. Talk about a woman scorned.

Look, this woman was a Clinton advisor, a CLINTON advisor for years, who willingly and knowingly married a notorious womanizer. She knew what she was getting into. She doesn’t get any sympathy from me.

And yes, Oldcat — angry would still be the correct response. But I don’t think we’re seeing her response. I think we’re seeing the response she hopes will make everything go back to normal as quickly as possible.

Instead, this “sad, not mad” thing just makes them look weirder and their marriage shammier. Because it’s not the way normal people respond.

Seriously, our political classes are nearly all freaks trying to pass as normos, and getting it wrong when it really matters.

Ya’all aren’t strategic enough in your thinking. If she comes off all mean and angry he can go to his donors and quietly say “see what a bitch she is? You’d run around too!”
This way she’s a martyred saint and he has to stay a shitbag.

Remember her mentor has quite a bit of experience in this area.

Now what she does in private can be different :

Reason for her going to Africa is simple. After the visit to the witch doctor, something on someone is going to turn black, shrivel up, and fall off.

Perhaps, like Hillary, Huma has learned to channel her anger in private. I mean, has anyone seen Bill with a five o’clock shadow?

Nearly everybody is missing the REAL story behind Weinergate.

The longer Weinergate stays in the public eye, the likelier it is that certain questions are going to be asked – questions that could make the Clintons very uncomfortable!

A term I first read at Ace of Spades HQ: the “douchechills”. That’s the creepy feeling you get when you see someone as profoundly vile as Anthony Weiner. He has diagnosable narcissistic personality disorder. Every time I see him I want to bust out a can of Lysol and disinfect my computer. Yeuch. He’s so oleaginous I bet he leaves sticky little slime trails on everything he touches.
