The cheese stands alone

Ohhhhh…how do I love this NY Post article about President Lonelyheart mooching around the White House scuffing his foot (if you’re fussy about your news sources, here’s the Washington Post pushing the same story line).

I mean, no. Probably, on balance, it would be better if the most powerful man in America wasn’t bugshit insane. Or, rather, resentful, sulky and damn well inclined to lock himself in his room, chain smoke clove cigarettes and listen to Joni Mitchell albums all day.

Still, I had to watch the Obama blimp make its great gassy rise above the political landscape, and it feels so damned good to see it sink back to earth.

For all the chanting and styrofoam columns in the world, it will never rise again.

I hope you’re right, Stoaty. I can’t stand that guy. At first I at least didn’t dislike him, but that’s changed with closer acquaintance.

Liberals don’t have people skills – that requires you to observe people rather than order them around.

It’s not a coincidence that they cluster as far from real life and regular people as possible.

I wonder if they want us to think he is all sulky. I’m thinking he is having a good ol’ time vacating, spending our money, having chefs and maids and access to his ‘own private jet’….screw the actual ‘job’. Don’t think he understands that concept. Or cares.
He came to divide and shove a stake in the heart of Liberty.

I find myself experiencing simultaneously Schadenfreude and fright. I’m glad this despicable man is unhappy, but he is an unhappy man with far too much power that he may well use spitefully. Lord help me but I’d rather have Joe Biden take over at this point.

Oceania, I am ignorant of what sort of non-argument works for Lefties in your part of the world, but here in the States screaming ‘racism’, while tears and snot flow like the Kern River during the springtime, is not really effective anymore.

At least that’s one thing to thank Obama for–he singlehandedly eliminated accusations of racialism from the Left’s arsenal of dishonest argument.

Which is why Herman Cain’s candidacy is fun to watch. For a year now I’ve referred to Obama as America’s historic first, and last, black President. That gets a rest in Herman Cain’s case, because he’s done things, like run a business or three, that is a little more useful on a resume than the self-appointed unelected political position of (ha) ‘community organizer’.

It’s not about racism, racialism, what have you–it’s about the folly of handing life-and-death power to a brittle man-child.

Has he started talking to the portraits of former presidents yet? I thought he was Jimmy Carter redux, but maybe he’s more Tricky Dick. I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing him leave office in a similar fashion.

Lefties? Oh that would be the Green Party … they believe in man made global warming, want to live in damp cold caves, and off vegetables fertilised by their own excrement.
Savage creatures indeed.
They are poor lost way-ward souls that have turned away from the true light of scientific advancement and live in a kiss me quick world of delusional self-belief.

I’m sure it is faulty brain wiring – probably defective TRPV/M channels or heterodimic mis-mixing.

The Act and National Parties are more right wing. The National Party is presently in power, run by a Cunning Jew, formerly employeed by George Soros, the RH John Key.

The party is of course, a tad left-wing for my liking, as I’m more Right wing. That said, I believe that National Parties are banned in other parts of the world? Here it has been a main stream party for years.
I forgot to mention the Labour party, however they are a collection of lost losers, and a gaggle of gays, whom believe in ‘social engineering’. Truely Pathetic creatures.

Oh, we do have another party NZ First, however they have been electorally marginalised recently. I was even asked to stand for them on the Party List for this election, but declined, as I have to much on biotech wise.

As you know, China is run by National Socialists, so NZ and China are getting on rather well. However I do wish that we would adopt more of their policies, including state sponsored execution, and penal organ harvesting.

All in good time.

In another world common sense will prevail, people will leave one another the hell alone, and everyone will be free to pursue their own interests. But that is in another world; in this one the pointy-headed-oh-so-smarts are CERTAIN that THIS time – if we stay up late and work together, clap our hands and reeeeelly beleeeeve – that the dystopian nightmare of Marx et al will work like a well-oiled killing machine. I meant just a machine (the ‘killing’ part will be unveiled during the next phase of the New Order).

Yup. Thinking of moving to CA myself. I’m attracted to the flourishing job market, low taxes, low cost of living, the fiscally responsible governments both state and local, and the respect paid everybody’s constitutional rights, especially their 2nd amendment rights. The lack of hordes of illegal immigrants raiding the state coffers is just icing on the cake.

You know, Stoaty, I can see your point about the difficulties inherent in dealing with the troll problem by active intervention rather than exile. Tempting though it might be to replace the offensive bits of its posts with random words irrelevant to the context (daffodils, sentimental, dolphins, irridescent) or, more simply, to replace the entire posts with selections from the works and speeches of, say, Karl Marx, Mahatma Ghandi, and Martin Luther King, Jr., it would be increasingly time-consuming as the thing feeds on negative energy directed at it. No doubt the reason for all those fictitious melanomas. Interesting phenomenon, trolls.

I keep telling you – it is all about race.

Some years back, a different black man was running for president. I voted for that man in the Republican primar, in my state.

He went on to run for US Senate from the State of Illinois.

As luck would have it, Barack Obama defeated that man, in that Senate race.

Out of curiosity, would you consider my vote for Alan Keyes to have been “all about race”?

Or is there the narrowest smidgen of a possibility that I was making a principled vote for a man whom I believed more closely embodied my political philosophy, regardless of his race?

And it is with some delight that I watch the recent successes of Herman Cain. He has an impressive resume, and would make a very able candidate.

Should he win the nomination, I believe the most uplifting aspect of a Cain vs Obama race is the opportunity for everyone to look past race, as the determining factor, and instead, focus on the pronounced philosophical differences between those two candidates….

Is it racist of me to want for that?

Comment from jwpaine
Time: October 11, 2011, 5:25 pm

It’s racist to even notice race, unless the race you’re noticing is cracker-ass-cracker white, in which case, you’re merely being observant. In a Donald-Sutherland-at-the-end -of-Invasion-of-The-Body-Snatchers kind of way.

Mark: Right. Almost.

Mike, those are things that would definitely keep me out of this state if I didn’t already live here. But my CA roots go deep, and it’d be really hard for me to leave. Hey, the weather’s good where I am, and we don’t have to worry much about earthquakes here in the Central Valley.

🙂

I’m not so pissy today, Stoaty…I’ve replaced it with exhaustion. I’m not sure if that’s an improvement, but there it is. Yesterday is my first day back to work, I tell my students that it’ll take me a week to catch up with all the grading. A kid asks me today, what’s my updated grade? DO YOU LISTEN TO ANY DANG THING I SAY?!!!!

One good thing, I guess, only about half the non-honors class assignments were even turned in, which is less work for me. Of course I do get to see those kids again next year, what can you do?!

jwpaine–about trollturds and spamturds, it’s just that if the goal is to avoid banning it, retraining is the next line of defense. Aversives don’t work–it soaks up negativity with enthusiasm. Getting everyone simply to ignore it is a sisyphean task. But replacing its babblings with something it didn’t write, posted under its signature username might actually work. Might not,of course. Trolls is trolls. I just think the experiment might have. . .interesting. . .results.
