Local boy makes bad

masood

Huh. I said I had no local knowledge of the Westminster knife attacker. I was wrong. He was a local boy, and the local papers are full of it.

He was born in Kent (the county next door to the East) and spent time in prison in both East Sussex and West Sussex. A lot of time in prison. He was a very bad dude.

I had coffee with a neighbor this morning who lived in the same little town as he did for some years. She was livid that the BBC (I think it was) ran an article with a headline something like, “One of only two black men in this picturesque village, Masood never felt accepted.” Implying (but not quite daring to say) evil English racists drove him to violence.

He was a violent thug with a long arrest record and a history of knife crime and intimidation. The kind of guy, you scooped up your kids and went inside when you saw him walking down the street. Of course he was never accepted! She was seriously buttmad to be called a racist.

“The other black man in the village,” she said, “he was lovely.”

It was good to see her get a taste of the MSM, anyhow. She’s the most liberally liberal in the village.

Meanwhile, token Muslim peer ‘Baroness’ Warsi said of Masood “he was a violent Christian before he was a violent Muslim.” Which is true. He converted in prison and picked that Muslimy name. But then you have to ask, what attracts violent men to Islam, and why does it make them more violent?

Finally, our Home Secretary and local dimbulb MP, Amber Rudd, made some off-the-cuff remark on the day after the attack to the effect that Londoners going about their business proved that the terrorists will never win. Standard post-attack fare, right? Only, I have just now worked out what our leaders mean when they say that. They mean, “we don’t have to do anything, we don’t have to change anything, we don’t have to react in any way to what just happened; we’ll go on just exactly as before and that will show those old terrorists we’re not scared.”

But we are scared, fam. If you have a brain in your head, you’re scared. And they goddamn good and well better do something about it.

1) They do not have a brain in their heads, because those who rule [regardless of party or country] do not usually have to deal with reality.

2) Those who rule in Britain in this case, but it also applies here, know that the casualties will be among either those who are there to protect them or among the expendable little people whose loss they don’t have to care about.

3) Just a thought, but things go on as before, until the day that they don’t. Many an elitist has ignored reality one day, and found him/her self against a wall or on a scaffold the next.

4) The only way that HMG will care about terrorists, or most of the US government [especially the bureaucracy] will care about terrorists, is if they would have gotten through to Parliament, or to Congress, or respectively to the Epsom Derby or the Academy Awards. Sudden, involuntary exposure to the reality others have to deal with does that to elitists.

She got so much crap for this but I think Hopkins is 100% correct:

For being such an outcast, he managed to marry a wealthy woman who then made him manager of her business. Ultimately, he abandoned her and their 2 daughters. They say that he influenced his elder daughter to convert to islam but since he was never around much, I’m not sure how much influence he cd have on her. Now, she’s in Birmingham wearing a sack. smh…

So where are the local tough guys of non-Muslim orientation? You know, to protect the Moms and Kids from guys like this.

The law enforcement guys are shackled – they can take notes after an attack and maybe even arrest the guy and temporarily put him in prison. But nasty B**tards like this guy don’t change, they just get meaner.

I have no advice for dealing with the local government. It seems as if nothing legal works.

As soon as I read “Kent”, the stanza from Werewolves of London started playing in my head.

“He’s the hairy-handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately he’s been overheard in Mayfair
Better stay away from him
He’ll rip your lungs out, Jim
I’d like to meet his tailor”

Ran across this. Someone uploaded a copy of A Town Like Alice to youtube. The first half is her being a Japanese POW. The second half is her being a busy little capitalist in order to help the people who helped her. Really a good story.

@Ric Fan. You have found one of my favorite mini-series. The film unnecessarily strays from the book in several spots, but it’s still quite good. I read a “Town Like Alice” when I was a schoolgirl, and began collecting books by Neville Shute Norway when I was in my twenties.

Sadly, books written in the style of NSN would never be published today. The story-teller openings are not violent enough, or larded with profanities.

I know firearm ownership in the U.K. is extremely difficult. But owning a razor sharp gardening tool should be ok, right? Hanging on a peg beside the front door. Maybe there’s a market for a U.K. military veteran to start teaching self-defense classes using gardening tools. A hand trowel with a nicely honed edge would fit in my purse.

Plenty of people getting shot in UK cities. Bad guys always seem to have access to guns. I thought it was outrageous that there were no armed patrol men on the Westminster grounds because it would melt snowflakes. It’s ridiculous.

Just did one of my recurring forays investigating sites on UK cost of living, pretending I might actually be an expat retiree someday. The prices for everything, particularly renting/buying flats or duplex take my breath away. I am not looking at London. Crazy expensive.

“He was a violent Christian before he was a violent Muslim”
And he was a violent child before he was a violent adult – so what?

Since his Christian incarnation didn’t run over a mass of people and stab a police officer before he was dispatched to his damnation, all she’s managed to point out is Islam is acceptably more violent than Christianity.
We must assume he found Christianity lacking so he converted to a religion where violence was rewarded rather than condemned.
Instead of ameliorating his violent tendencies, Islam clearly encouraged him to mine new depths in search of paradise.

AliceH, the price of everything here is terrifying. I spent my first year wandering around stores going, “HOW MUCH?”

Your elite don’t care because they are (for now) insulated from the mayhem they force on the masses.

And the fact they know good and well what they are doing tells you just how much they hate you.

@Subotai Bahadur: “Those who rule in Britain in this case, but it also applies here, know that the casualties will be among either those who are there to protect them or among the expendable little people whose loss they don’t have to care about.”

‘Twas ever thus. As the old Civil War song “All Quiet Along The Potomac Tonight” noted:

‘Tis nothing, a private or two now and then
Will not count in the news of the battle
Not an officer lost, only one of the men
Moaning out, all alone, the death rattle

Mundanes exist only to serve the elite, pay taxes, and die. And as far as the elites are concerned, we should do all three as expeditiously as possible.
