The giant melting head of Kim Jong Il

Yeah. I’m not really going anywhere with this. I got this image stuck in my head and I had to get it out. It’s like an itch. An art itch.

I’m fascinated by the train wreck that is North Korea. I’ve read a bit about it, but I don’t pretend any special insights. This is more of the same old posturing, at a guess. Kim always gets such fabulous prizes when he behaves badly.

I don’t for a minute imagine it’ll be any different this time.

They’ll back off as soon as Obama offers them billions of our tax dollars to behave for a few more years…

This is why those poor bastards on Yeonpyeong island are freaked:

Incidentally, on the map version, NK is one big, scary white blank. There’s satellite imagery, but no mapping.

Only place I’ve run across that’s like that.

Looks like a lot of the islands around Timor are dead white, too.

The South Koreans are already talking about having the US resume basing Tactical Nukes in the Peninsula again….

Dear Leader Obama pointed his finger of disapproval via a speech today.

Rumor has it Jong Il pissed himself after hearing it. Pissed himself laughing…

North Korea is a Chinese finger puppet. When ever China wants to give the US ‘the finger’ this is what we get.

There’s a succession going on, Kim Jong Un is taking over and is already head of the military. There’s nothing like an armed emergency to smooth a succession.

Peter;
my thoughts too….
Junior the third – is behind the wheel now… so as Skandia points out, maybe hu jintao is testing communication to action response time….

Have any of you guys ever seen the Google maps N./S. korea? South Korea is lit up all over the place and north korea is pitch black with almost no lights in the entire country http://www.flickr.com/photos/lynetter/73481007/ look for seoul thats south korea. Kinda illustrates the whole thing. The only reason N. korea is doing this is to get attention.

OT: Stoaty — do you, or any of your readers, know someone who does for music what you do with images?

I want to re-score Mac Davis’s “Oh Lord It’s Hard to be Humble” for brass/marching band ensemble.

Regards,
Ric

I don’t know of anyone, but there’s lots of cool software out there for faking orchestras and such. I’ve played with a program called FruityLoops (looks like it’s out of production) that had some really good synth built in.

This doesn’t have any instrument mimicking, but the Catsophone was done in FruityLoops.

An intelligence guy who shall remain nameless, US Army 18 years, Korean immigrant to US, says Kim II will not live another five years and Kim III has not had enough time to install his loyalists in line to replace his dad’s loyalists when Kim II kicks. He predicts civil war within North Korea after Kim II passes. He says the DMZ will bar the refugee flood South, but China will have to deal with it, and Japan will have boat people.

Guess we have to wait and see.

How can you take someone seriously that names his kid “young’un”—–I think that’s how you pronounce it. Sounds like somebody from Bum Fiddle, Arkansas or thereabouts
